For over a decade we have been trying to get watermakers installed to get water from the Pacific. We go from government meeting to government meeting and everytime permits are release a new lawsuit from some left wing group saying it will cause problems because the ocean will get saltier. We have two nuclear plants on the coast where the waste heat could be used for this but they keep blocking it. |

Not to sound naive(Evain)but how can they take the premier necessity of life and turn it into a commodity - have they no shame? |

I really think with all the commercial clout California brings with it from "stars" to green movement grass roots, that some bright-minded business people (or stars or politicians, etc) could stop saving every other nation and put some of their cash into their home towns! I read up about industrial units that make something like 1300 gallons in a day without a hookup. That's the kinda stuff that should be out there... I HOPE that California doesnt become like Jersey with its waste dumping into the aquifers. Then it would be doubly bad! |
