Anyone ever take cold medicine called "666?"

I actually found some stuff about it online. No doubt it actually exists, but I wanted to see what the forum thought about it. Apparently, it's for when you have one Hell of a cold.

Plenty of water. Avoid sugar and proceed foods.

Yes. You can still purchase this in many stores in the south and from the farmers almanac. I always believed that this medicine was mainly used in the south, but I am not sure about that. I never uesed it because the name freaked me out a little but my grandmother did use it . I never really did know why the name of it was 666.

Yes,666 Cold Preparation was a an excellent cold remedy. It was made by a company callled Monticello.

It was kind of a pale yellow liquid and you took a tablespoon or two with water. If you had congestion in your chest, within two days it would be gone. It was primrily a natural cold remedy and you could buy it with or without quinine. You didn't need to take anything else with it like a cough medicine or aspirin because 666 was all those things in one. I would give it to my children and also take it myself and be good as new in 2-3 days.

After they took it of the market, they replaced it with something that does not help you at all. I bought the "
"new" 666 one time and it was totally useless. I havent used it since. The 666 on the market now is a mere shadow of itself. As I said, the original 666 had a lot of natural ingredients in it which was why it was effective.

I wish I could find the original formula again I'd buy it all up.

Yeah I had that nasty stuff when I was a kid. My Grandma always had that on hand as well as castor oil. I remember that 666 stuff tasting like bile, how gross!

My pops use to shove that swill down my throat all the time as a kid, I hated it !!! One thing I will say though, it always fixed up whatever cold I had..........LOL !!

I never took it, but it was/is called "666". I've never heard any explanation for the name. Just doesn't sound very "healthy" to me.

And that was Vick's 44.

I remember that evil-tasting stuff. It seemed to work, though...maybe because the aftertaste took you mind off how sick you were. That was back in the 50s and 60s. I don't see it these days.

Yes I have! It is so disguisting!!! My mom use to make me drink it too. I could still taste it now!!! It is horrible!!! It pierced my soul!! YUCK!!!
