You'd think that it would be in their own self intrest to not blow themselves skyhigh. I don't get it. Why they got fucking psychos running the place? Yeah ok, I know, psycho is Industry Standard. Shit this wasn't even an accident, just terminal hubris.

Moral of the story:

Don't take chances with something that can rip the hinges off of Hell. And that especially means keeping ASSHOLES away - way far away - from the controls.

Re: 60 Minutes - Blowout: The Deepwater Horizon Disaster
I'm probably older than most GLP'ers, and I have worked for many 'very large companies and government entities' ///

What CBS is reporting is what happens every day. And in most cases, there aren't any disasters. But in some cases, there are.

I'm not the slightest bit surprised at this presentation, quite the opposite, I am relieved.

For the past few weeks, I knew I was VERY disturbed by this disaster, but I couldn't know why.

Now I do know why and I am able to tell others about it.

When someone might ask, "What business are you in?" There is only one possible answer, and that is, the "business of making money." Nothing else counts and nothing else matters.

CBS has proved the point.

But what is disturbing me most is that, this thing is A LOT BIGGER THAN ANYONE KNOWS!

Not only is it terrible now, it is going to get worse.

And of course, I hope to hell I'm wrong.

So, any clue how much BP and Transocean stand to profit off of the insurance claim?

If I were the insurance company they would get nothing but a criminal investigation. I wouldn't pay out on obvious cases of Joo-ish Lightning nor criminal negligence as the case may be.

Follow the money. A lot of people are going to lose their shirts on this one. The ones who, at the end of the day, make money on it can stand in the line up and TRY not to look like the perp.
