Hmmm, if the Germans pulled all the undeclared money out of Luxembourg you would end up on the fields again harvesting your carrots and what not!
You missed that I have converted my €uro tra$h into CHFs. Before it goes completely south.

Re: EURO PLUNGING: EUR=1.2234 USD
So does this mean it will be cheaper for me to travel there this summer since Im converting USD to the EURO?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 687755

What if you convert to Euros and the Euro collapses? I sure would wait til the last minute if you are traveling to convert anything. If you have any personal debt, you really should be paying it off instead of traveling. Either that or just change it to physical gold currency (or silver currency) til you are ready to take your trip. You can just sell it off right before traveling if you wish. I still would not take the trip unless you don't have any personal monthly payment debt.

What might happen is that they revalue gold upward in dollars near the $10,000/ounce level. If they did that, then the countries with gold in their reserves would be able to say they were not insolvent?

I won't argue with any of the above...except one thing...On the whole, America still has the greatest collection of individuals ever assembled. Period.
 Quoting: Dash Riprock

I agree. There are some great spunky people - in the pockets when you know where to find them - or should that read - 'attract' them? rolleyes

But still, there is no place in the world that I'd rather start the rebuilding process than right where I'm at, because I know what the "little guys" of this nation are made of.
 Quoting: Dash Riprock

Yes & no... that's very weakness of the American average Joe... They turn funny when in a group... The tax protests in Washington last year are such an example.... It's colour-specific, you see?

You stay in Europe. Good fucking luck to you. You will need it.
 Quoting: Dash Riprock

No I won't. It's going down. But I have never been part of the 'crumbling walls' of empires....smoke n' burning ashes...

Other than that we all need all the luck each of us is able to handle.

At Par, 1 euro = 1 USD, they will Peg. After they peg they will become 1's and 0's.

Your gold will be outlawed and

all transactions will be taxed.

Re: EURO PLUNGING: EUR=1.2234 USD
Like many, you really don't understand how the United States is made up.
Oh really? Guess what - I lived in the 'United' States which is still part of the British Commonwealth by decree of the original 13th amendment that has since been 'edited' out of the now "officially" known 'Constitution' (or should that read Constipation?).

The United States is but the economic experiment about to fall apart at the seams. And, they are still 'beholden' to the Queen of England.

Your Bill of Rights is put through the paper shredder. Your Constitution, i.e, "Constipation", began to be eroded by Bush Jr. & is now being 'exterminated' by your 'Bush' puppet in chocolate, Obummer, the cucoo who's nesting in the WH; the Worldbank as well as the IMF.

Don't teach me about "America" - you fool!

We were simply 200 years ahead of the Eurozone and much more cohesive because of the currency and the language.
Oh no, you werent'. I've lived in the South (yes, Atlanta before it become a buzz business centre & when CNN had just been 'born' way back in 1989).

I've also been to the NYSE (yes, Wall Street) & saw the 'beehive' it was back in the mid-90s when the first boom bubble was building up (dot.com anyone?). America was still 'recovering' from Michael Milken - the junk bond Savings & Loan king who ended up like Bernie Madoff did not too long ago. Oh yes, and there was the small & 'minor' aberration that was ENRON & Bush Jr.'s "good friends".

Just think if, in Europe, everyone had spoken German and used only Deutsch Marks how things would have been different. Unfortunately, the development of European civilization was much less directed that the USA.
Say, do you not have a headache yet? The dollar is a fiat currency & has not been backed by gold since 1975.

If we would have been like the United States Europe would have sunk a lot sooner - it's only because the ECB has adopted the same ridiculous US approach of printing toilet paper, that we are in this mess now. And, no the DM over all of Europe would not ever have been 'accepted' (the way it was by the fast asleep moronic & dumbed down masses in the US by too much tv, video & Hollywood trash & too many easily available chemical drugs in the US).

In case you have not understood - the US was an economic experiment by the European monarchy. It was never considered as apart from the Mother ship (yes, that's Europe for you).

The District of Criminals is about to be flushed down the toilet and the States will form a New Federal Government that will stick to its charter (at least for a while).
You obviously 'believe' that myth, hm? Tell you what, I lived in LA, CA from 2000-2003 & I tell you now that this won't happen.

Keep dreaming but it's not part of the world elite's plans. America will self-destruct through its constant war machinery. It's become a virus on the planet - that's why I have no compassion whatsoever for what's happening in the Gulf with the BP oil leak.

Call it karma but this is what happens when a 'nation's' greed is running the show & is exemplary of the US's deliberate exploitation & letting it happen.

Obomber 'agreed' to allow BP to exploit the ocean before screaming at the 'damage' the way he always does - faggot that he is. America's relentless hunting & greed for oil (to ensure the "American way of life" based on nothing but hot air & no substance) & resources at the expense of other people's survival, their right for a dignified existence is finally hitting its own shores.

You get what you deserve.

And, if people hate my guts for this, I am more appalled at the accumulated corporate greed called "The United States" the best democ-RATS-y money can buy - which, is, as a matter of fact, a corporation, not a nation - than any oil spill could ever make up for.

The American empire is a plague & a disgrace on the face of this earth, despicable & utterly plastic. Like your CC, your Hollywood industry, your Federal Reserve & $$$&Cts & your rotten ethics & distorted morale, corrupted right into the marrow of your bones.

You do no longer know human values. Your whole mentality has been distorted by $$$$, more $$$ and more $$$. All plastic worthless pieces of paper.

America is mentally ill & psychologically destroyed. The soldiers are left outside with no support - they come back from all these horrible blood-drenched wars & all you think is that 'America' should survive solely by 'flushing' the corrupt banking industry down the toilet?

You don't even know how to live without your fake bills anymore so how can you even begin to "sign" this without having any real options?

America is too divided to ever come together as a real nation.

It's over.

That much maligned tunnel will become profitable in the end. I've just watched the Icelandic Volcano programme on the History Channel, I'm buying sea and rail stock tomorrow and thankfully I was never in airlines. Never seen such statistically backed, matter of fact doom momgering in my life.

We are doomed, well not really but we will all have to get used to doing things the old way, hard way (romantic way!) call it what you like. My annual golf tour now becomes, Ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao, drive through Basque country to Madrid, onto Seville and then Faro is a mere 3hrs drive further with the foot to the floor. A bit different from a 2.20hr flight though, the brave new (non-flying) world.

Uh, do you mean to tell me I should prostitute myself? Certainly that's what I am hearing in between the lines from your reply.

I'm not a whore. I never have been & I do not intend to start now.

I am a survivor. I am a product of the Korean war that was fought as a result of WWII. I'm not even European. I will never betray my principles of ethics & morale. But my survival is more important than my money amount. I don't need much & I don't have much but I want to keep what is still left. And that isn't much.
