If you are contesting the amount then...who knows. BTW Do not forget the cost of replacement vehicles and other reasonable out of pocket expenses. I hope you kept receipts. Last Edited by 9teen.47™ on 05/18/2010 11:44 AM Zec 12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. Psa 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, [and] all the nations that forget God. Jer 6:2 I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate [woman]. STOCK UP NOW. You should have at least 6 months worth of basics for every member of your household. Stay away from crowds when trouble starts, do not forget water storage, tobacco is worth more than gold or silver, and be kind to hungry children. |

BRIEF AND TO THE POINT User ID: 381742 United States 05/18/2010 11:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | When dealing with lawyers and insurance companies don't hold your breath... Poor people do poor people things, and rich people do rich people things. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it! when you rob Paul to give to Peter ... ... ... you will always get Peters support! :Brieffromnativea: |

That's why you have a lawyer, so you don't need to stress over it. |

Quoting: zombieintraining[link to i1000.photobucket.com] [link to i1000.photobucket.com] I used to handle cases like these when I was a paralegal. You have to finish treatment with your Dr. Basically, your dr. will have to say "this is as good as he's going to get." When your treatment is done, your lawyer will send out a "demand letter" to the insurance adjuster assigned to your case. They will review the demand and start negotiating an amount. If fault is clear, it should not take that long. Just stay on your lawyer's ass to get that letter out when your treatment is done. Your lawyer must have all medical records, bills and your mileage in hand to prepare the demand. There are certain things that can muddy the water such as any prior injuries that you have sustained before he accident. If you reject their highest offer, then a lawsuit will be filed. That can take years to get to court. Sometimes a lawsuit must be filed to protect your statute of limitations on the case. This will happen if your not finished with your medical treatment before the SOL occurs. |

Quoting: zombieintrainingI got a lawyer and did a few months of physical therapy, and when the Drs finished my treatment, the lawyer said it could take a few more months for the insurance company to look over everything and figure it all out. So my question is, for anyone who has been through this before, how long did it take for you to get your money? LOTS of variables involved, and it can be only a month, or it could be as long as 2 years. |

Evil Twin 07/26/2010 10:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I had a lady jump the median and hit me head-on on the Florida Turnpike about 3.5 years ago. No surgeries or really serious injuries, just a broken leg, cracked ribs, and a concussion. It took 15 months from the date of the accident for me to get a check. |
