Report Copyright Violation | Students Suspended For Painting Over Anti-Gay Phrase HOWELL, Mich. -- About 75 students at Howell High School skipped class to protest the suspension of four students who painted over a phrase that uses a derogatory word for homosexuals, according to WDIV-TV in Detroit. The phrase was painted on a rock outside the main entrance. Administrators said it was not the rock painting that got the students in trouble, but the graffiti they painted on the sidewalk. Protesters said the original anti-gay graffiti was aimed at an openly gay student. They said the students who painted over it along with the word "Love" on the sidewalk were simply making a statement against discrimination.
