If You do You have to spend way more money just to get away from the riff raff. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 970480Here here. Houston is a definate no. If you like the outdoors you can buy a good amount of acreage outside of Dallas at a decent price and not have any of the Houston issues. |

YAH Stone Massive! User ID: 967262 United States 05/19/2010 09:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've been north of San Antonia (Hill Country) about 40 miles south of Austin and its gorgeous. But I've heard Austin is a great place. 1Ki 19:4 But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree, and prayed that he might die, and said, “It is enough! Now, YAHUWAH, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!” |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 975158 United States 05/19/2010 10:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | For outdoor living I suggest the Hill Country. For those who have issues with "riff raff" in Houston I live in the Montrose and don't have any riff raff problems. Quoting: Nikki_LaVeyLmao! Montrose is where all the gay men live. I work all around Houston. I find used condoms laying on the ground in random places in the Montrose. NO ONE wants to live there Nicky. Are you one of the collar types or the leash types? there are some weird people living in that area. Really. on topic.. Hill country. Austin area op. Its beautiful and the people are really nice, laid back. |
Maguyver User ID: 808852 United States 05/19/2010 10:39 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It depends, this is a big place... Like the coast? Port Aransas, south to SPI is great! Lakes? Caddo is pretty, but swampish. Lake Texhoma is huge. Possum Kindom is nice, as is Livingston, Falcon, and Travis. Hiking/camping? Any place in the Texas Hill Country. It's beautiful there in the fall. (See Lost Maples) Away from it all? Terligua or Alpine out far west. Alpine is a little more developed. I can't fault Dallas. It is pretty good for those wanting the metropolitin lifestyle. Stay away from: Houston proper. It's mostly a dive, though there are a few nice pieces. The suburbs aren't bad. The metro Harris/Fort Bent/Montgomery county area is really sprawling, though. Texas Panhandle/high plains. Not much to do there unless you like ranching. It's very very flat. Upper Texas coast. Beaumont, Port Author, Orange unless you enjoy the chemical industry. Rio Grande Valley. Yuck. Just yuck. Not much to do there and it's not all that pretty. There. My $0.02. Lived here all my life, been all around it, but just my own opinion. Last Edited by Maguyver on 05/19/2010 10:40 AM Adversity is inevitable, misery is optional. Do or do not. There is no try.
