Breaking: Dennis Blair, Director of National Intelligence, Resigns Effective Friday !!!!!!!!!!!!

Dennis C. Blair, National Intelligence Director, will resign as of tomorrow, May 21, 2010. As usual, we will be looking at whoever is appointed in his place.

Is this simply F2 moving into another phase, or has F1 managed some sort of coup? This move seems timed along with the release of a Senate report, and both items are being reported by the media rather casually. So what might really be going on behind the scenes? :-)

As Raye reminds us, we can't be sure who the white hats and black hats are without a scorecard, and even then, the scorecard is constantly changing.

Obama's top intelligence adviser resigns

(CNN) -- The president's top intelligence adviser, Director of National Intelligence Dennis C. Blair, has announced his resignation, effective Friday.

Blair, a retired four-star Navy admiral, has served in the post since January 29, 2009. His office oversees 17 federal agencies of the U.S. intelligence community, including the CIA, the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security.

Word of Blair's resignation comes two days after the Senate Intelligence Committee released a report that sharply criticized the National Counterterrorism Center, overseen by Blair's office, for failing to properly coordinate intelligence activities to detect the alleged attempted Christmas Day airline bombing in advance.
