That is sad but it was not for refusing to answer census questions it was for the "GUNS" pointing at census taker and cops.

FYI, If the cops come to your house and knock on the door you are not required to answer it. If they have a warrant they typically don't knock.

I am interested to know if the officers responding at 10:00 PM were uniformed or plains clothes, and if they were in a marked or unmarked car.

For whatever problems people have with government agendas and privacy, the census is not only constitutional, but the obligation of US citizens to complete. The pragmatic, legitimate uses of the census data are many and help administer the country. Fucking lunatics that confuse this with the fact our representatives are corrupt are missing the point. And beyond all of this, you don't point guns at people when there is no imminent threat... This woman had it coming.

It will be interesting to see the details. Unless the census worker was actually threatened with the shotgun there really should have been no reason to panic on their part. Considering the kind of people running around today it's never wise to open your door to anyone you don't know.
