To know the mind as such, to be consciousness itself, is not a mental pursuit, as much of the 'research-spouting' knowledge collectors will have you read of their endless banter and understandings of this and that. You cannot learn to BE. You can read about something all day every day and never become it. Only when the barriers of the mind have broken down can truth be experienced. And it must be experienced.

Why fast?
Why cleanse the body?
Why be silent?
Why breathe ?

There are many ways to subvert the "learned mechanisms" within the mind and body corpus. Stop reading about them and explore them for yourself.

You haven't truly lived until you have learned to die.
