Married ? : Your wife isn't happy unless you are miserable
So true.

Want to keep the wife happy? Be miserable or risk divorce

Married men be warned: Don't enjoy yourself too much.

Research shows that if you're happier than your wife, you could soon be heading for the divorce courts.

Economists have identified a phenomenon called the 'Happiness Gap', which states that the bigger the difference between spouses' satisfaction levels, the greater the risk of a break-up.

Crucially, the study, which looked at tens of thousands of couples in Britain, Germany and Australia, found the effect was seen only when the husband was feeling better about life than his wife.

It was also more likely to be the disgruntled wife who would start divorce proceedings.

The study found that the happiness gap widened if wives were lumbered with most of the housework, if they had different social backgrounds to their husbands, or if they had higher than average incomes.

However, it closed when couples had similar backgrounds, had a common religion or if the woman was a housewife, a student or retired.

The researchers at Deakin University in Australia, also revealed that the happiness gap was 'several times wider' in couples who were living together compared with those who were married.

The report, which has been published in Germany under the title You Can't Be Happier Than Your Wife. Happiness Gaps and Divorce, concluded: 'Our interpretation of these findings is that there exists a pure preference for equal distributions of well-being in couples.

'It is possible that couples that are not able to transfer and equalise their happiness levels are more at risk of divorce.'

What a load of crap. If thats how you feel then you have a deeply flawed relationship and life.

Me and my Wife-to-Be have such an intense love for one another. She IS a part of me. We have a connection with each other that we are as one.

All this crap about "Marriage is Jail" & "The old ball and chain" is bull shit.

You need to focus on connection deeper then Sex, or Money or even this reality. You need to see the like-ness in one another. See your reflection in her/him...if you can't...then get another woman you can connect with.

Control. If you're already happy she can't control you.

And the need to control stems from insecurity, which is the root to everything a woman ever does.

Ummmm....no, he's right.

The thing I want most is for my husband to be happy. He's an awesome dude and he's my best friend. We've been married for 13 years.

good idea

About 15 yrs ago I had a cool landlord who lived across the street. He was single, rich and owned 4 houses and every man toy available.

He was about to get married to this bitch. I sat him down. Smoked a joint with him and tried to talk him out of getting married.

I bet he kicks himself in the ass for not listening to me.
Personal responsibility - try it sometime. Quit blaming others for your bad choices. Consequences happen.

LOL@ "wife-to-be"... Just fucking LOL! That's why she's your fiancee or gf right now. Just watch when you get married.

I don't know, but there's something about marriage that does something to people.

I knew a couple that were together for years and years and were very happy. They never married but everybody kept pushing them to marry. They eventually married and got divorced within 2 years.

Why marry? You can do the exact same things unmarried that you can while being married.

That article is true btw... and I didn't even read it cool2

The article is true, i don't need to reqad it, because I'm living it, and I see it in people all around me, every day.

To the "my wife to be" guy, don't mind us, we all felt like you at one time until we learned better. Given the way you feel about your woman right now you don't want to hear thing like this from people who have more experience in such matters, but you'll see. One day, it could be in a year or five years or 15 years, you're going to say to yourself "those fucks at GLP were right, son of a bitch!" But hey, enjoy the ride now while you're still in the summer of your love, before your wife-to-be becomes your ex-wife-to-be.
Wouldn't it be great to heal the world, with only a song?

From ED TV (1999)

I feel that Ed (TV) is the apotheosis of a prevailing American syndrome. It used to be that someone became famous because they were special. Now people are considered special just for being famous. Fame, itself, is now a moral good in this country. It's its own virtue.
