Re: THE UNPINNED BP WEB CAM STORY OF OUR LIFETIMES: UPDATE.... Oil washes onto big Mississippi tourist beach
Even though we are staring at the poison that has killed the Gulf, i don't blame anything i see on the cams. Its not the oils fault, its not the robots fault, its not the well head nor the BOPs fault. That is why i can stare at these cams as long as i have. The site of them don't make me sick but the site of the BP officials, our Federal Government officials, all make me nauseous.
 Quoting: Gabriel

Many times I have thought about the people who operate the ROVies, and wish them well.

Even the guys or gals who operate the dispersant.

Especially whoever operates the dispersant.

Can you imagine the moral, ethical, and/or karmic weight upon those people?

They are almost certainly young and eager. They have been taught that they are doing the right thing.

Perhaps they ponder what they are doing.

Decades from now, they certainly will.

I wonder what goes on in the ROVie control room. Has anyone shaken his head and walked away?

Has anyone refused to release the dispersant, only to be replaced by someone younger, hungrier, and less inclined to ponder???

Perhaps some day, one will speak out.

Every night I pray for the ROV controllers that they will be at peace knowing they are trying to help and NOT the cause of this mess. God help those poor men and women they have a front row seat everyday hours upon hours they hear and see what is going on they know more of the truth then we know and the little we know is heart breaking.
Funny thing I really like the ROV’s l have come to think of them as human in a way.

The view has changed so I cant tell what the ROV was looking at.

When's the last time we saw the crater with the pipe spewing oil? Have we seen it since they used the cutter on the riser?

Go to this link, at bottom of page it shows what the ROV was looking at, could be the rig.
Also, up near top of page, 4 posts down, a pic of the gusher coming out of BOP, what does the pic look like to you.

Beautiful prayers!

Like prayers for our people in the armed services, even if we feel that a particular military action is wrong.

Prayers for the individuals themselves.

I love the ROVies too, perhaps because they remind me of the toy robots I had as a kid. Back in the days when technology was the answer to everything.

There is a huge need for compassion and forgiveness throughout this entire disaster.

Yes, forgiveness. Not necessarily for the powers behind it all, but for every wet-behind-the-ears naive person who simply did the best he knew how to do... and yet may have contributed to the horror through ignorance -- lack of knowledge -- not lack of ethics, lack of courage -- but lack of information.

Prayers, reflection, meditation, even tears of understanding -- these are all healing forces.

I also think grieving our own actions or lack of is the power of forgiveness. I no longer practice organized religion, but there will always be a few passages from the story of Christ that will stand out. "Forgive them father for they know not what they do" comes to mind right.

Now whether I will ever achieve that level of forgiveness for others when we live in an age of information at our fingertips is another thing. And for the ones that "know what they do" I hope there is a hell. Unfortunately they have taken a planet meant to sustain down with them.

if there is a "meek" there would be no better time to rise!

Re: THE UNPINNED BP WEB CAM STORY OF OUR LIFETIMES: UPDATE.... Oil washes onto big Mississippi tourist beach
found [link to www.fourwinds10.com] - "at least 18 other sites on the “fractured seafloor” with the largest being nearly 11 kilometers (7 miles) from where the Deepwater Horizon sank"
Let's just hope they don't try to nuke it, or for any matter use explosives. I have a feeling that the crust of the earth holding all of this oil and methane hydrates below, is a lot weaker then they are currently leading people to believe. The nuking option is only viable when the well is on land, where we are dealing with solid continental layers of crust which will closeup. Shattering the thin crust into millions of pieces will only release the materials below all at once...

Camera 5 has been following some kind of a balloon marker apparently tethered to the sea floor.

Unable to read the depth or "altitude" of the ROVie cam. There is a sort of balloon (looks exactly like a normal balloon kids play with, but heavier rubber) tethered down apparently to the sea floor, and the camera watches it swaying gently.

Murkiness and light cathrate 'snow' around, unable to tell what is going on.

No big deal, just hadn't seen it before.

There was talk of lowering another dome and more tubes.. but i guess that was put off until July when they get more tankers there. Is that correct?

Also - did it get posted here the video of the seafloor burping w/ the rov watching?

Also - has the tiltbot still been checking every morning?

Ive been kinda out of the loop on this thread.

60% chance we have a cyclone brewing in the Atlantic too.

Snip

It is estimated that some 40,000 barrels (1.7 million gallons) of oil a day might have been gushing out before the well was capped.
The right lessons

Mr Obama said the disaster would have a lasting impact on US environmental policy.

"In the same way that our view of our vulnerabilities and our foreign policy was shaped profoundly by 9/11, I think this disaster is going to shape how we think about the environment and energy for many years to come," he said in the Politico interview.Mr Obama vowed to "move forward in a bold way in a direction that finally gives us the kind of future-oriented… visionary energy policy that we so vitally need and has been absent for so long".

The robot arm probably grabs it and hangs on, waiting for something to do, or waiting for something to be dropped down, hauled up.

There are more cameras, when they grab stuff with the arms in the lower areas, they don't always use the cam you are seeing.
