Focus on Section 3 -Physical Data, Section 5 - Reactivity Information, Section 6 - Health Hazard Information, and Section 7 - First Aid.

There are some very nasty fumes coming off of the oil. Hydrogen Sulfide and benzene are some of them. Things to note here - Benzene is a KNOWN carcinogen (it is cancer causing). Next Hydrogen Sulfide, when breathed, is an irritant to the central nervous system and respiratory tract. In smaller doses is irritates....and in larger doses, it kills.

Contemplate the sheer amount of oil now within and how much oil is still emerging from the leaks. That's an absolutely insane amount of oil that is slowly surfacing. The more oil that surfaces, the more hydrogen sulfide is given off, meaning the higher the concentration in the area. More hydrogen sulfide in the area means more illness from respiratory problems (INCLUDING a buildup of fluid in the lungs). More respiratory problems means more people dying from them. Guess what the man at the end of the video is dying from.

Also, Florida has a rather large retirement community. Basic health priciples state that as people age, their immune systems slowly deteriorate. So, lots of older people in an area that is a huge health hazard. Niiiiiice.

Further, if you take a look at the Reactivity Information section, you'll note that the vapours tend to traverse to areas of lower elevation because the vapours are denser than air. Soooooo....think basements, sewers, New Orleans (it IS below sea level afterall), and for some fun, hot water tanks and boilers. Ka-boom!

Ok, was having trouble figuring out where you were coming from and I was cranky.

I am in Florida and my whole family is being pulled to the mountains. We don't want to leave but feel it is inevitable but the right thing to do. Somehow we are excited but mournful. We are fourth generation Floridians. Hard to leave a place where your family has over a hundred years of history. But it has to be done.

We were suppose to do this a few years ago but timing wasn't right. When this spill happened somehow everything came together without either of us knowing the others were thinking of the mountains. The children are the ones who are saying lets go NOW. And they were very against it back then. In only a few days we believe we even have a buyer for the house and this place heavy with foreclosures.

I believe when the spirit says go you go and don't look back. Everyone needs to listen what they personally need to do and that may be staying right where they are or fleeing. Just listen and obey.
