There is no oil in those pictures, only marshland.

The clouds look red.

FFS - that's marshland - not oil.

I'm thinking the one that depicts the delta is just showing sediment runoff. I hope that's the case.. otherwise it is totally fucked.


I've been flying out over the La coast for 35+ years. THAT is marshland - not oil. That's not to say there isn't oil impacting the marsh - it is. I'm down here in the thick of it now.

I would think the marshland plants would be green. Its almost june in the deep south. Also, those black spots look to be shadows of the clouds.

The marshland can be spotted on the upper left portion of the second photo. You can see the water channels and make out the coast line beaches. I would say that is somewhere along the coast of Louisiana possibly the Mississippi Estuary. The reddish haze could be clouds, but the first photo is without a doubt marshland.

Yes, they are green. They were brown after katria but after the second year they were green again. If it is the marshland it looks like its died.
