Here it is : Me and another poster in caught these shots yesterday as it all went down I dont know exactly what happened...Here is my take 6:30am - Woke up and immediately came to see the live feed, 2 minutes in something bad happened..Oil started flowing super hard and huge burst of oil started spitting out..Then all the sudden it started full bore. Oil started gushing out at what I would guess to be 2 barrels per second..And thats no exaggeration, if anything, that is a low number... The ROV got completely engulfed in oil and they started Flipping and spinning...They panned the camera left and you could see the other ROVs behind them..But Im not 100% positive, but almost sure I saw 3 or 4 leaks(big), coming from the seafloor and there was what I took to be methane hydrates everywhere...Might have been sediment, not sure.. The ROV was having such a hard time finding its bearings, it kept using the riser for reference of where they were...They repositioned and headed back towards the leak and as they came up to it, you could see a huge hole in the seafloor.. [link to i841.photobucket.com] But another thing I noticed and hadnt seen before, was this was now down in a trench, with steep sides, maybe 10 feet walls on both sides..Only thing I can compare it to is when a section of ground rises in a earthquake...Except it was on both sides, I believe They got back over to the leak and continued filming after checking over the area and all of the ROVs moved into this "trench" on the seafloor and seemed to continue operations as before, spraying dispersants.. I watched the whole day and caught numerous DIFFERENT eruptions, much the same..Increase in oil, then exploding out oil, sending the ROVs spinning and left in a absolutely HUGE cloud of oil... One of the eruptions ended up leaving oil splattered and covered in oil...After another eruption and being engulfed in oil again, it was brought to the surface... All the sudden they switched to another ROV on its way down to the seafloor..As they were on the way down, they were completely over-run by huge oil plumes...They kept panning over to the plume..When they got to the bottom, they slowly started approaching from the side and then came to a stop...You could see 3 or 4 ROVs, down in this "trench" working on something..Then all the sudden, they switched to one that was in that trench already zoomed way in on the leak... They had 2 feeds going though and one was not zoomed and you could see, the flow had increased dramatically...If they zoom way in, you cant tell how bad it is at all..Looks small compared to the unzoomed view... One thing, the pipe they are showing a leak of, goes into this "wall" of the trench...Feet down..So what im not understanding is, that pipe is definitely in this wall of seafloor..Is it possible that is the "main pipe" from the seafloor?? If it is, there is no stopping it and a top kill will definitely not work... I hear as well...and this is making it FAR WORST and the dispersant they are using profits the ones who caused the problem... I wonder how long BP will take before annoucing their failurewith that attemp? Bottom line i sincerly hope i am wrong with my interpretation...but the methane plumes this morning where undeniable. I think we've reached the global catastrophy for the unseen submerged mass forming under the surface is greatly underestimated at this point in time. So much bullshit in the name of profit... |
