North Korea have nothing but crapped out subs from the 1950's and 60's "Submarines, most of which are of the 20-some Romeo-class, are outdated and slow, but they are sufficiently capable of blocking sea lanes" [link to www.globalsecurity.org] Who here honestly believes that a MODERN South Korean warship with all its fancy sonar etc. would NOT detect a noisy dilapidated CLUNKER! If those old 60 YEAR OLD submarines can creep up on modern ships undetected, WHY THE FUCK do we need brand new expensive submarines? FUCK ME, if you can't SMEll a RAT in this case, you guys are SHILLED OUT! .

On the other hand, a diesel / electric sub can maintain totally silent submerged operation for hours at a time.
