Stephanie is a childhood friend who drowned when we were at the lake...i tried to find her and i was mad at myself because i was on the swim team and i got so tired that i had to give up....i ended up in the hospital because i was so sick from the exertion...i tried so hard to find her i really did and yes...i often wonder if she knows that i did try my hardest.....i really didoh my god..

I do have neurological issues and some chemical (and blood) deficiencies --- some of it because of the nature of my illness (it caused me to lose a lot of blood and for a time i felt like a vampire always having to get transfusions because of the amount i was losing), and also from treatment for that condition....treatment effects are terrible and i am still dealing with them.


Is my hair going to thicken back out? My BIG question (however vain) -- and can I dye it without having to worry about more falling out? I did it once, but after a week, it got thinner. so....

the swelling, i get because of my dogbite...not in my ankles, but my elbow. just found out today, actually, that it's because the dog pulled part of my tendon loose. and my lymph nodes aren't draining well in that area so it swells until it gets massaged -- it's fixable though with physical therapy.



my grandmother from my father's side was probably 3/4 cherokee....she died when i was in my early teens. she was an artist, andshe painted me a lot -- i look just like her -- we're talking splitting image -- except for my jewish nose (mom's side). my parents didn't push one side or the other because they made that promise to each other when they got married -- they had to becuase they have such different backgrounds. apparently my grandma didn't like that and she was constantly pushing christianity on me and that was okay with me because she loved me hard. she painted me --- i have a painting she did of me barefoot with my ballet shoes off to the side....she said she did it because she thought my mom was forcing me to be something i wasn't.....she wanted me to believe that she meant the ballet (which at times was traumatic because my instructor smacked me a lot with her yardstick), but i know it was because she was afraid my mom was pushing her own judaic background on me.


NOTE: The turquoise, well, as you can imagine, was a big part of her attempt in pushing me to be more like her. In her will, she gave me every piece of her indian jewelry, which was mostly turquoise. Even in death, she tried to change me.

I can't tell you how good i feel knowing she loves me anyway, even though I never did accept her christianity. It probably helps that I don't completely accept any religion.

She loves me anyway. She told you turquoise specifically so I would associate it with that message.

I can't believe she came to you! That means she is here all the time with me. She saw this as an opportunity.

And so did Steph. Any way you can talk back with them? Is there any way you can tell Stephie I didn't mean to let her die? That I really did try?

We were on one of those tubes that drags behind a boat....and we fell off at the same time. Her lifejacket wasn't secured and it flew off...mine was.

I remember thinking to myself before our turn...."she should tighten those straps"

but I didn't. and I feel VERY awful
