Quoting: Anonymous Coward 937445from an article on huffington post... More than a million people will probably be in Blake's boat by the end of the year. She's one of 19,000 in Maryland to have exhausted all available benefits, according to the state's labor department. As of last week, 65,400 people had exhausted benefits in New York -- up from 57,000 at the end of April. In Michigan, it's 34,900. In Illinois, 22,000. In Pennsylvania, 35,200. In California, 110,609. In Florida, the number had climbed to 130,000 before May and currently stands at 193,000. |

Time to get creative I always try to keep a stock pile of canned goods and ramen etc for when summer comes around because that's our worst season. All of my clients are going to conventions and spending their money there and not on my products and people go on vacations instead of buying things from my husband's store. It's just a bad season for us. It's supposed to be the season of plenty but for us winter is our season of plenty and it wasn't very much this winter either. So we couldn't save for the summer like we'd like to. No kids, and no pets |

I guess I could go get a job at McDonalds but what I do now makes roughly the same amount as a part time job at a fast food place (in the good season) and if I don't continue making new things people lose interest. |

Quoting: goodmockingbirdYou will still be hungry and uncomfortable, but you will get by just fine without harm to your health. I would skip the soy or whey powder, go with the rice and beans and cheap multis, and then splurge on a couple of fresh items...cheap and in season, like broccoli, carrots, bananas, apples, whatever is cheap that can add some life. In fact I'd skip the vitamins in lieu of a couple of fresh foods each day, if it came down to it. Even frozen fruit or veggies are fine. Good luck...hope you don't have to spend much of that 40 bucks on gas or the food will be scarce. |

When he got his job we lived 20 minutes closer to his work, and we were forced to move 20 minutes away from it(long long story), it made gas costs soar for us, also the bus goes the wrong direction. We can't afford to move anywhere because the place we're at now is a family members and we don't pay rent just bills (also we keep an eye on the place for them so they don't have to worry about thieves) and bills+rent would mean we'd HAVE to move in with someone's parents. All of his friends from work live near the work so no ride sharing either. |

Cup O Noodles All you do is add water then put in the microwave and it is done and that fills me up most the time and they come in a 8 pack for 4 dollars! 2. Bread With bread you can make toast and butter , or a cheese sandwich, or grilled cheese, or a egg sandwich and eggs are not cheap . 3.Top Ramen Easy to make over the stove and is really cheap. 4.Potatoes Yes I put it POTATOES, they are cheap and that whole bag can survive you for a whole week, add salt and butter to it and you have a meal. 5. Corn Beef IDK if you eat it but a couple of these cans barley go over 3$ 6. Eggs Eggs are very cheap and as you know, eggs can last a long time and you can make different dishes with them. |

You can make some biofuel, just go to your local mcdonalds and ask em for a 5 gallon bucket of their grease =) Works wonders in a pinch, speaking from experience here haha. |
