What if someone told you that there is a way to prevent or better yet, cure autism, and respected people believed it? What parent wouldn’t do whatever it takes to help and protect their children?

On Monday, May 24, 2010, Britain’s General Medical Council, which licenses and oversees doctors, found Dr. Andrew Wakefield guilty of serious professional misconducts (having conducting his work unethically among other charges), and banned him from practicing medicine in the UK.

You may recall that Wakefield is the doctor whose research was said to connect autism and the vaccine for measles, mumps, and rubella, but the theory was later discredited.
