The NKs are under-armed, outgunned, and poorly-fed.

The SKs have the support of the US, which has a strong presence in the area.

The Chinese have little or nothing to gain by backing the NKs.

I predict a long stalemate followed by a gradual grudging stand-down.

But then again, I haven't picked too many winners lately, so who knows?

I see this backwards.

If the Chinese doesn't allow the US to do what they want to North Korea the Chinese will not get any interest payments on that borrowed money. The debt that the Chinese owns would be automatically worthless if they side with the Koreans. They would have to completely defeat the US and own them.
