Catseye User ID: 980502 Dominican Republic 05/25/2010 03:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just spoke with a shrimper's wife in Fort Myers Bch. The guy is out shrimping in Key West right now. There's no sign of oil on the beach or the canal behind our houses. I asked her about any funny rain and she said no. She said that it's raining right now, in fact, and it looks perfectly normal. She said that from what they understand, as long as the oil goes into the loop current it should whisk it right around FL and not come into Fort Myers Bch. |

I live off of college prkwy next to midpoint bridge(right next to the live cam) and it has rained a little today but there has been NO black rain. Just got done reading through this whole thread and also contacting a couple friends throughout the area. No one I know in this area has seen ANY black rain. You guys need to quit believing these unsubstantiated claims. Why the hell is this garbage pinned? Troll thread... Nothing i enjoy more than a tall glass of lemonade and telling the truth. |

You will see Blackwater and the heel of its boot stomping on you.Everyone down there with you should seriously start to take precautions for yourselves. The time to leave has long past. Stay calm and keep us updated. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 960100DING DING DING ... heed the above message folks! Sorcha Faal source is warning same this week ... that we are now all under the gun !!! Hopefully you are sincere friend. I do believe people underestimated this catastrophe from the outset that live in the most direct areas affected. Probably out of denial. I have made a few post as an AC and as Rome Burning that were intended to warn of the intuitive danger to all of us from earlier this month but it seems most people are just indifferent to the outcome because they haven't seen the effects to themselves directly just yet. But by trying to tie in my concerns about Blackwater intervening with Sorcha Faal reports, I sense you are trying to discredit my post. If I am wrong, I apologize. I read Sorcha Faal and find all the articles useful enough to validate my intuitive conspiratorial nature but I am always aware that this Sorcha Faal site is probably run by Naval Intelligence or some other entity interested in manipulating truth. Peace. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 760139 United States 05/25/2010 03:23 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't know about this case, but I could definitely see how people will be seeing black rain. No, it doesn't evaporate with the water. But water spouts will pick up the oil and it will rain back down somewhere. That's how it rains frogs, fish, etc. So, maybe wherever the OP is it was just some oil that got picked up in a water spout and happened to drop where he was. It's not like it's not possible or even unlikely. As for red rain in India or whatever someone mentioned, that is the water falling through air pollution and picking it up. The "red" isn't in the clouds or in the water when it evaporates. The water starts out clean, but picks up pollutants on its way down. Of course, if one little water spout can drop some black rain, imagine what a hurricane is going to do with this stuff. :( |

Nobody you know... User ID: 978356 United States 05/25/2010 03:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Okay I've been thinking about this for a while now. There are lots of people claiming that oil cannot be picked up by storms, except for short distances through waterspouts. There's even some evidence supporting this from prior oil spills. The problem I have is that this is not an ordinary spill for a couple reasons: 1. This spill is near an equatorial area with lots of potential for VERY strong weather activity. 2. This is NOT normal oil. It has been highly altered by dispersants, making it SOLUBLE IN WATER and therefore, I believe, able to be picked up by storm activity. 3. This is quickly becoming the largest spill on record in a very volatile climate. Even if only 1% of this oil were picked up into the clouds, it would be very noticeable in our rain! 4. We really have nothing in history to show exactly WHAT will happen with this. It may be the first "domino" in a large chain-reaction of events which we cannot possibly fathom the final outcome! Think about this for a second: what if this oil does get picked up and rained over a large city? Think about what that would do to the roads! It would be one HUGE oilslick, but even worse because of the dispersant causing all kinds of havoc to the very structure of the asphalt! I mean this is just ONE possible scenario I can think of. Think of all the possible collateral damage. A hundred BP companies couldn't pay for it all! There's a lot coming at us in the near future and we just don't have the answers right now. Its going to be HUGE in my estimation. Just my 2 cents, of course it may only be worth .005 cents in this economy, but hey - its what I got! Jesus is the man! |
