I need migraine help

Why don´t YOU stop coming here and see if that helps.

When I get a migraine, I go into a totally dark and silent room and wait it out. It´s the only thing that helps me.

Thats what I do, get in a really dark room and relax. Before you do that, it can also help to take a shower/bath then go lay down.

I used to have 5-7 migraines per month starting at age 7.

I went to a chiropracter in 93. I´ve been going to one ever since. I would make an appointment ASAP. They are great at getting rid of them.

thanks MO, I know...I had migraines like my daughter has now when I was a kid. They´re terrible. Cool and dark rooms work, but the pain is severe for my girl...

Take her to the dr´s or hospital, depending on how long her headache is and how severe it could be a multiple of reasons for it. Worse case senerios are Menegitis, or a slow leaking anurizism. I´m not sure of the spelling there so I´m sorry for that, but I wanted to let you know that it´s not a good thing if she can´t take any pills without throwing them up because it usually means there´s more going on than just a headache involved. Get her seen right away. I waited 5 days when I had menengitis because I thought I was just having a severe migraine that wouldn´t go away, by time I went to the hopsital it was almost to late, they told me another 6 hours alone I would have been dead since there was so much fluid on my brain. I spent the day in ICU because it was so bad. Don´t take those chances with yourself or your child. Get her checked and immediately.

I’m by no mean an expert but I can tell from my own experience.
I had suffered mayor migraines been to doctor, had prescription medication but nothing really helped.
I had never forget the Lady whom came in to my shop one day, than while serving her I got
a very bad attack of migraine and she told me to take one aspirin (not paracitamol) and
drink one cup of coffee, it did not matter if it was old or cold. As long as it was real coffee.
She had been given this advice be a homeopath (after years of doctoring) and it would work wonders she said.
She even has given me the aspirin, as I had none at the time.
Well I tell you it did wonders, the migraine was gone before she left, I’m so great full for her
tip and never leave home with out a aspirin in my handbag.
There is not much harm in trying, good luck

Some ice wrapped in a towel to be applied on the back of the neck. It will help reduce the blood flow to the brain and provide some temporary relief when it gets really bad.

As mentionned above, a strong cup of coffe will also help eleviate the pain when nothing else works.

15214, I don´t think it´s time to panic yet. I know it is migraine, since my daughter had them from a very young age. It begins with visual distortion, flashes and severe headache including nausea and vomiting. This usually lasts up to 8 hrs.

It was just as bad for me when I had it...

migraines from allergens need to be treated differently.

no aspirin

drink water for an hour at rate of 8 oz per half hour

then drink mild caffine, with as little sugar as you can tolerate

caffine will induce shedding of water excess along with allergen

make take a few hours, but will be gone.

its ok lets see if we can be nice for a change, My son had migraines from 12 to 18 then they stopped. He used to cry for hours nothing I could do. Its hard just be there.

Take a dose of Aleve everyday for prophylaxis. Try drinking an infusion of something like...I don´t know...wood betony root/lavender flowers/chamomile flowers/rosemary...and use a glass/porcelain pot and cup, because metal short-circuits the energy contained in the herbs. Try rubbing some lavender oil on her temples at the first sign of the headache.

Thank you so much. I have lavender oil, I wish I´d known that earlier. I will try that next time (even though I pray every time may be the last). I´ll check up those herbs too.

Hay OCTO their is a pressure point on the webbing between the thumb and four finger enough of the appropriate applied pressure in the right place sometimes works

Mannatech "Plus" has heped my wife (46 years old) and my 14 year old daughter with their hormonal headaches/migraines. My wife was nearly incapacitated 2-3 days a month during her period & has tried a variety of medication which DIDN´T help her....."Plus" has gotten rid of her headaches!

diet can be the cure some times, lots of chocolate can bring on a bad ache
but lack of water, dehydration can be another

Octo, keeping in mind that the migrane is probably caused by something eaten, or is in the near environment and should be isolated......I´ve read recently that breathing oxygen has maybe a 50 percent chance of stopping a migrane and cluster headaches. Check it out.
