Although a mere 20-35% of the city will have some kind of damage, according to different sources, the amount of people and resources will create propblems to the city of 20+ million people.

Popocatepetl is connected with Tlaloc and Ixtaxihuatl volcano they share underground source of Lava. Ixtaxihuatl have being "extint" for long time and they say Tlaloc Volcano is death also... but if Popocatepetl really erupts and his caldera is not enough to take all the lava out we will have problems because Ixtaxihuatl have no caldera or crater.

Also is a believe that all the volcanoes around the city are connected, less than 500 years ago the volcano Ixtle erups covering all the south of Mexico city we can see the frozen lave in Pedregal and Ciudad Universitaria.

If the Ixtle erupts the lava will reach my home.

Any way If popocatepetl erupts it will cover the always poluted city with dangerous ashes.
