And soon there will be multi-task force raids to shut down the illicit lemonade manufacture....
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 780600

so she opens a stand on a busy street corner... and she should be allowed to do this because why? she is a kid? if she can sell lemonade to go to, of all miserable places on earth, Disneyland.. then i should be able to set up a stand next to her selling porn to raise money for my son's garage band.

They have just created a future drug dealer. She's obviously a hustla by nature, and now she will hate the system because she will think the cops=take away everyone's fun. So in 20 years she just might be the largest coke supplier in the world.

I really hate taking the side of the cops in this, but I kinda agree with them on this one to a point. If she'd been in her residential neighborhood like I was when I did this as a kid, that's fine. But they showed the intersection on the video. I'd have been pissed if I were on my way to or from work and was held up by a lemonade stand. It just wasn't safe where she was doing it.

Go back to your own neighborhood, kid, and I'll be by later for a big, tall glass.

That intersection did look quite nasty. The child is an adorable little kid and her safety is far more important than raising money for DisneyLand. Kudos for the radio station in sending her off...)

Re: Cops shut down the lemonade stand of a 7-year-old
Another little girl’s lemonade stand has fallen victim to the ills of big government in California. This time, the victim was 7-year-old Daniela Earnest of Tulare, California.

She was only trying to earn money to send her family to Disney Land, when a code enforcement officer showed up and forced her to close down. Her crime? She did not have the proper permits that the city requires to operate a business. They later attempted to sugarcoat their actions with the excuse that she was using a “dangerous intersection” to conduct her business.

A local radio station saw her story in the paper and gifted the girl with four day passes to the magical kingdom. Many kudos to the radio station for supplying these tickets, but why not also use their airwaves to enrage their listeners and call for an end to these nanny state laws?

This has become a case of were the lighthearted end justifies the ridiculous means, taking the focus off this inane intrusion of government and spotlighting the “Disney movie” ending provided by the radio station.

It is eerie how news anchors can sit there and smile, while liberty and the very spirit of American business continues to fade.

If shot at, those corporate thugs would scatter and flee! They are but cowards, and no amount of training and/or equipment can remedy their composure in battle. As well, since you say this would be in a time without government, well then, what's to stop us militia from coming out blazing?

you think ?

you think that if there was no government or minimal government, those corporations would just maintain 'thugs' ?

or, would they maintain mercenary armies like blackwater. wait - there are ALREADY mercenary armies like blackwater. if you think, you, as a 'militia', can cope up against the people who are making their entire livelihood from warfare for years .....

well, enjoy your stay in your local blackwater guarded, private run slave labor camp.
 Quoting: Bazork!

Mercenary armies LIKE the 'blackwater thugs' ARE COWARDS! Just like their masters, the ruling elite. So, you think the corporations and the government don't go hand in hand, eh?

Being a Jeffersonian, I'd see it otherwise:

minimal government = less corporate power

This little girl had her lemonade stand closed down by “The Man.” Apparently cops told her that she needed a permit to sell lemonade at her stand… and we wonder why Capitalism is struggling in this country. Did I mention she was saving the money for a trip to Disney Land?

Daniella Earnst wanted to try and make some money so that she could go to Disney Land. Wait, she’s been doing this since kindergarten? Thanks for that lesson, Dad. Work ethic is fine and dandy, but making your kid constantly shill $2 lemonades to the neighbors seems rough, but I can see where he’s going with that. Although sending the kid to city council to testify on her own behalf is a bit much.

I guess you DIDN'T actually LISTEN to the story, Moran!!

She DIDN'T set up her stand in her own yard, OR even her neighborhood, but at a BUSY intersection in a business district.

IF they'd let her do that, AND an accident had occurred, the SHIT would have HIT THE FAN!!!

greeeeeat it had to happen near my community too
i live in commyfornia and a code enforcement parked across the street and noted my adress and photographed a yard sale i was having to make sure i don't have more than two a year
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 979194

total idiots

Doe everyone in the neighborhood have one or two every year?

One could easily do the revolving garden, yard, garage, backyard sale....just rotate the homes where it occurs...codes better get on it...what a pathetic job...a total sell out...pretty sickening.

the same way nanny world will do everything soon...too many rolls of tp...fines...no insurance, broke, out of work???FINES, too many grams of fat in your childs meal...more fines or maybe some re training at the civilian service office...maybe you are short your "volunteer" hours...extra carbon tax for you and all your motorized stuff can have the extra VAT tax...on and on it will go until everyone is literally ENSLAVED and marked like swine or cattle.

It is disgusting...As they let the cWHOREporate fat bacon boys rip off millions, trillions...like even rumsfield and the pentacle...they were to announce the 2.3 trillion MISSING and UNACCOUNTED for

They chase down the people more and more for more and more

corporate whores
self made 'gods' of revilement

Thieves
Murderers

Liars
False weights and measures
Just like the seafood industry was just found almost all guilty of

almost 50% of the weight in SEAFOOD that people paid $$$$ for...was actually ICE or frozen water...not crab or lobster or trout...but frozen water for 7.99 a lb...more or less...frozen water was being counted on the weight of seafood...

The truth...
The more the govt gets involved...the worst some things definitely seem...

schools

AMA and so many medical schools gone now-reduced to only a few that mirror the nanny world...

and so on...

subterfuge is used regularly to make many think these powerticians(politician) are going to do the right thing or plan A...and then do nothing or another plan far removed from what they said...as they think we are morons...less than they are...we are SLAVES for them...

and many do not care as long as they have their fast food and texts...as long as it SEEMS all is well, even if the whole kit and caboose are about to blast off...

bump

The announcement was to be made on 9ll,2001...but due to building being decimated we never were given the announcement

2.3 TRILLION missing

Whe Cynthia McKinley asked where it was...Donald RUMSfield stated they could not figure it out

She also asked about DyneCorp sexually exploiting children over seas and something about sexual trafficking

That she felt we should not contribute usa money to that company if they were guilty of sexual trafficking of children or child porn...

He "did not know..." rofl

You also think it was wrong of her father to allow her to testify on her own behalf thereby learning how to stand up for herself legally? Wow... just wow...

plenty of boot licking shills around

danger is part of living...and using good judgment is a process

I suggest kids stay in their neighborhoods, but more and more are clustered and dangerous intersections

Just put bubble wrap around all kids

They cannot even run on the playground anymore or the grounds of many schools

They take out the jungle gyms...and we have a bunch of weakened people

30 and under...many are weak as puppies...and do not even know it...

It is pathetic...even 14 yr old boys cannot hardly do pull ups...

why ever take them out of them

just strap the kids into a console and let them drool at the keyboard inputting data...do not want them to get hurt...

Pathetic the amount of sell outs I am seeing-soon enough they will have committed to selling out so many that it will surely ensnare them as well

As they sow SO SHALL THEY REAP

Looking forward to it...time for truth to make their acquaintance

By the way - my point here is that the cops wouldn't dare do this to a so called monority group for fear of political repercussions. We need to stop taking this shit and fight back. Hire a private detective tail on the cop and make his life a living hell. The police department captain too.

That's how you get back at these fools. Record their every movement and wait till they fuck up and go public with it.

You want to give to charity - everybody pool your money, hire a private detective to tail all political and public assholes that do stupid shit like shut down a lemonade.

We will call it the "Expose a Public Asshole Charitable Contribution Fund".
