I'm sorry, but you shouldn't zoom into anything, if you don't have a lens, that could be locked manually onto infinity.

I don't know any zoom video lens with that feature. Only some more expensive lenses with fix focal lenght have it.

Often enough i've been angry about this erratic behaviour of video lenses.

I have to stand corrected, I had the wrong coordinates plugged into Stellarium. When I put in the corrected coordinates it shows Venus high in the sky in the NW.

Unless the program is giving me false info I'd have to say that was Venus...
