lets make a tally of those weapons, shall we ?

[link to idfspokesperson.files.wordpress.com]

wrenches, a sledgehammer, COMPACT DISCS, kitchen knives, one ornamental middle eastern knife (like the sikhs wear), a complete solingen kitchen knife set, icepicks they acquired from the kitchen, a swiss army knife, a few ordinary switcblades (veery dangerous), various sizes of hammers you need to work carpentry with, package ropes, and various size sticks.

an arsenal fit for kings indeed !
anything that i say except the things i give references for is what i learned and deduced. they may or may not be correct.

you dumbass. there was no blockade. you said i was wrong. where was this blockade you speak of?
I don't understand why you're asking "where" it is. Do you think that a blockade means they have a line of booms in the water or something?

Israel has declared a blockade of Gaza. Goods are allowed in if they are harmless.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 983753

yes, they would have a line in the water. It's not a boom but would be a set of ships, air support, subs maybe, communication buoys etc. that would allow them to intercept and 'block' other ships that they deem are not allowed to pass.

here is the important part you half wit. That 'line' in the water would correspond to international 'lines' in the water and if it were inside water that was considered under Israel control, then that is their choice. If it is in INTERNATIONAL WATERS, then it is not a blockade or defense of their interests but an aggression against another country. Is it that hard for you to figure that out?

i mean, just think about the things you can do with a full size wrench set !!!!

even F22 raptors cant cope with that one.

a swiss army knife ? man ! that is THE shit. you can actually screw some bolts with it.

and sticks. man, you can beat people with sticks. badly. you probably cant kill them, but sometimes insult is worse than injury right ?

...........

on another sidenote NOT A SINGLE FUCKING ONE OF THESE JUSTIFIES EMPYTING A DOZEN MP5 CARTRIDGES AND OPENING FIRE FROM A FUCKING HELICOPTER

fucking religitards.

dear moron,

international law disagrees.

Article 87

Freedom of the high seas

1. The high seas are open to all States, whether coastal or land-locked. Freedom of the high seas is exercised under the conditions laid down by this Convention and by other rules of international law. It comprises, inter alia, both for coastal and land-locked States:

(a) freedom of navigation;

(b) freedom of overflight;

Article 89

Invalidity of claims of sovereignty over the high seas

No State may validly purport to subject any part of the high seas to its sovereignty.

Article 96

Immunity of ships used only on government non-commercial service

Ships owned or operated by a State and used only on government non-commercial service shall, on the high seas, have complete immunity from the jurisdiction of any State other than the flag State.

Article 101

Definition of piracy

Piracy consists of any of the following acts:

(a) any illegal acts of violence or detention, or any act of depredation, committed for private ends by the crew or the passengers of a private ship or a private aircraft, and directed:

(i) on the high seas, against another ship or aircraft, or against persons or property on board such ship or aircraft;

(ii) against a ship, aircraft, persons or property in a place outside the jurisdiction of any State;

(b) any act of voluntary participation in the operation of a ship or of an aircraft with knowledge of facts making it a pirate ship or aircraft;

(c) any act of inciting or of intentionally facilitating an act described in subparagraph (a) or (b).

By targeting their rudder they could set them adrift, surrounded them and waited. At some point they will be forced to come to terms with their situation.
 Quoting: D. Bunker

Disabling the rudders would possibly endanger the ships, being unable to navigate, possibly knocking into one another. If they all dropped anchor, perhaps they would have been OK.

Of course, the flotilla would then be broadcasting for days, crying about their situation. (They seem to have been kind of a floating TV station.)

Re: Weapons Found on the Flotilla Ship Mavi Marmara Used by Activists Against IDF Soldiers, 31 May 2010
As a member of the human society here on Earth, and as an Israeli citizen, I must express my deepest regret and send my condolences to the bereaved family who lost their loved ones in the recent remorseful event that has occurred on the humanitarian Marmara flotilla.

This ship has been sent from Turkey in the alleged purpose of delivering a humanitarian supply to the destitute Gaza state. This voyage has been executed by the IHH activists. IHH, which plays a central role in organizing the flotilla to the Gaza Strip, is a Turkish humanitarian relief fund with a radical Islamic anti-Western orientation. Besides its legitimate philanthropic activities, it supports radical Islamic networks, including Hamas, and at least in the past, even global jihad elements. [link to www.ynetnews.com]

On the board of the flotilla were a couple of dozen of radical demonstrators that are evidently associated with the Jihad, and were intentionally boarded on board to provoke an armed skirmish if it were to happen. Accordingly, we shall distinguish them from the other peaceful activists that were on board and on the other 5 ships.

According to the IDF, they informed the Marmara flotilla of its close penetration to a territory that is under blockade since 2007, which is compliant to the international law and its conditions: 1. Inform all sea by countries of the blockade 2. No discrimination to any country trying to send a ship (arresting all ships under blockades). 3. No killing innocent civilians during the arrest. 4. Releasing all of them after the arrest, except alleged criminals which were to be indicted. [link to en.wikipedia.org] In addition, the IDF has even invited the flotilla to its port in Ashdod to be scrutinized for any weaponry or any kind of ammunition. The answer was negative. They wanted to circumvent the blockade and reach Gaza Strip with their cargo intact. [link to www.youtube.com]

Subsequently, the IDF has sent a brigade of commandos to board all the ships in order to intercept its initial course and delivering the cargo on ship to inspection in Ashdod, a city inside the Israeli border.

The preliminary instructions given to the commandos were: 1. Try to avoid any physical attack 2. Forbidden to shot (only if they thought to be in grave danger) 3. Disperse the mob with paint balls and tear gas if it were to be necessary.

However, while having a smooth control on the other 5 boats and without encountering any aggressive assault from the resistant side, on the 6th boat, the Marmara flotilla, the resistance was dumbfounding. It was a very aggressive assault acted by the Jihadist activists, who were armed with slingshots, rods, crow-bars, knives and guns. [link to www.youtube.com] / [link to www.youtube.com] /

The Israeli soldiers, who did not expect such aggressiveness, striven to restore order, but with no avail. Eventually, while seeing 2 of their fellow comrades wallowing in their own blood, they asked permission to use their guns as self defense. [link to www.youtube.com] / [link to www.youtube.com]

Of course, this is clearly a fault that could be avoided. The IDF was not prepared for such an attack, claiming it believed to be a humanitarian peaceful flotilla, and so they prepared for a passive or verbal resistance. [link to news.yahoo.com] --

So the aftermath is evident, 10 died and many injured. The media was quick to response claiming Israel to be a pirate state, a transgressor who penetrated a massacre on innocent peace activists using a casuistic approach. As a result, the Hamas, using the world wide hatred, has jumped on the opportune moment to attack Israel and its blockade on Gaza- The blockade that have been executed in order to stop the smuggling of weapons through the sea and the ground.

So I guess, in the end… the unctuous impartial media was right, and the commandos had no right to attack! They should have let them beat them to death… just like all the other navy in the world would do to a potentially armed ship under a prominent blockade that has lasted for years and have stopped chronically more than a dozen armed ships in its way to Hamas' arsenal. [snip]

Had Israel just fucking waited, it wouldn't have turned out so badly. This is just so awful.

there is hope for you yet. whew!

Keep in mind, though, that I believe Israel would have had every right to board that ship had they broken the blockade but I do not believe they did it legally.

I also still believe they were provoked.

Of course, there is almost no explaining the deaths, is there?

its the ORGAN VENDOR again....how's tradin been? OnlyMe works in a hospital and likes goyisha organs for cheap to sell to desperately ill folks for lotsa lotsa muela...aint that right "all your organs are belonging to us"? or is that just a bad rumour again...like the one about all those nice jewish boys murdering medics, humanitarians and disaster relief agents while they slept on their aid flotilla in international waters?

Jamming the transmission should have also been done. I think it was workable. The reason it was done the way it was so that it could be a bold daring operation that would shock and awe. It failed. The IDF should know better.

I think that the lesson Israel is going to learn from this is that it's easier and safer to simply sink the ships attempting to bring more weapons through the blockade.
