I would like to point out, for those that think Israel can defeat Turkey soundly if a war does happen to occur, that Turkey has the second largest military force in NATO (second only to the U.S). Also you can bet that Egypt would join them as they have practice war games against Israel, which led Israel to request that the U.S. not sell Egypt F-15's. Also Turkey manufactures F-16's and sells them to Egypt (I don't know how much Lockheed is involved but I would assume heavily). And finally, it isn't a given that the U.S. would protect Israel due to the fact the U.S. has a base in Turkey and generally good relations. As Israel has next to no allies this could potentially be disastrous for them.
