The stock topped at $63 After the news was made public, the stock traded over $50 with tens of millions of shares changing hand. At absolute BEST, Goldman saved $50 million by selling. If you know that there is a problem of once in a lifetime proportion.....you don't mess with the stock in the middle of public when you can just go to the CDS market and get insurance on BP debt all day. You want to see a homerun? That's where it would be. |
