They started off with 1000 barrels then 5000 a day and so on. So does anyone really believe August is accurate...I'm thinking not

I don't know if anyone has said the obvious yet, if so, I'll repeat.

The worst case scenario is not "until Christmas." It's until never. Leak doesn't stop until oil is gone. Years and years. That would be forever for us.

I dont understand why this is such a BIG deal. I mean its bad but considering that so far it doesnt even come close to the amount of oil that other spills have released, it just doesnt seem to be out of the normal for an oil spill. The fact that they might not be able to get it under control is frightening, but so far there have been 15 other spills that have been larger.

I believe this is the worst ecological disaster I've witnessed in my life and I'm not that young.
If this thing just keeps on blasting out oil this way maybe we should prepare to think about the idea of not living as long as we thought we might.

How many barrels per minute did they inject at mud kill?
Ive seen 80 barrels per minute mentioned, well try that.
Am I doing the math correctly?

80bpm x 1440 (minutes in a day)= 115,200 barrels per day
115,200 x 44 days = 5,068,800 barrels
5,068,800 / 7.33 (barrels in a ton) = 691,514.324693 tons of crude so far
Its in 3rd...if we can find what the barrels per minute for mud kill was, its gives an idea.
2 3" pipes on BOP they went in, can 80bpm go thru that?
Read this on other thread couldn't find it again.

Anyone watch the remake film. "The Day the Earth Stood Still"?

Quota from the film, "Well that's where we are. You say we're on the brink of destruction and you're right. But it's only on the brink that people find the will to change. Only at the precipice do we evolve. This is our moment. Don't take it from us, we are close to an answer."
