SNIP

Numerous reports of oil and tar balls in the southern Florida Keys and a confirmed siting of sheen by the U.S. Coast Guard prompted officials at the Dolphin Research Center in Grassy Key and Hawk’s Cay Resort in Duck Key to lay protective booming around their caged dolphin habitat. …

The Coast Guard station in Key West received reports of an oily substance and tar balls approximately four nautical miles south of Long Key. A Coast Guard HU-25 Guardian aircraft from Coast Guard Air Station Miami conducted an aerial search and confirmed the presence of sheening in the vicinity of Duck Key.

Big Slick to Hit Florida By Friday; BP Continues "Trust Us" BS

June 3, 2010 (LPAC)—On or about day 45 of the Gulf of Mexico BP oil rig explosion, oil is expected to turn up on the beaches of the Florida panhandle. By Wednesday, an oil sheen was nine miles off Pensacola. Oil already appeared on the Alabama coastline, at Dauphin Island, and the Ft. Morgan Peninsula.

Thus, the extent of the oil spill damage is growing daily, as is to be expected. At the same time, the pretenses of damage-mitigation by BP and Obama's Unified Command — Federal agencies — are daily becoming more of an evil joke. What is required is to expropriate BP America, and make war on the crisis. A few of the parameters of the situation make this clear:

* OBAMA/BP GO-SLOW ON COASTAL PROTECTION. Only this afternoon, did the Obama White House send word to Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, that the Unified Command today issued the requirement that BP Plc is to fund construction of five sand berms. A request to expedite this was made by Louisiana authorities on May 11! One such berm has already been constructed. Louisiana has 140 miles (235 km) of coastline affected by the giant oil slick at present.

These sand berms, and the other protective measures — boom, oil skimming, etc. — are limited, and threatened by strong currents and storms, but the BP/Obama stance of stalling and opposing such protection is reprehensible. A rear-guard action was taken yesterday by Florida U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson (D), who sent a letter to Obama, asking him to get the Defense Department deployed in installing coastal protection.

The materiel itself isn't even in the pipeline. The Alabama State Port Authority said this week that they could not install needed boom protection for the vital Mobile coastline, because they lacked supplies of boom, as well as because of the unfortunate occurrence of strong currents.

* CLEAN-UP TEAMS AND VESSELS. Minimal deployment is the watchword so far, on the teams and vessels by BP for coastal clean-up in Lousiana. BP enforces a gag-order on the hirees. The total number hired on is still reportedly only in the range of 22,000. There are said to be 6,000 workers on coastal protection in Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.

Requisitioning for hundreds of dredges, fishing vessels and other help should be underway.

* VAST FISHERIES DAMAGE. Federal agencies today declared 37% of Federal waters in the Gulf of Mexico, out-of-bounds for fishing. In addition, state health authorities are closing many shellfish beds. Wednesday in Alabama, the oyster beds were closed.

About one billion pounds of fish and shellfish were taken out of the Gulf of Mexico in 2008, which included up to 30%-40% of the fresh catch consumed in the U.S. at certain seasons. This specialty sector — especially shrimp, oysters, red snapper and others — is now in the process of shutdown, and ocean-fishery experts are frantically studying what might be the long-term effects.

Of the total of fish and seafood consumed in the U.S., over 80% is imported (the largest category of imports of all foods in the U.S.), but of the remaining 20%, Gulf-sourced seafood is foremost.

It did not have to be this way. BP and the royals behind the scenes are stretching this out, to purposefully damage the environment, using human sadness and anger, as a stepping stone to their "CAP N TRADE" AGENDAS. here is a good desrcription on how a "local" business owner has great intent to help solve the oil mess, and has been denied, by BP, and the fed's agencies. [link to seminal.firedoglake.com] please ADD: /diary/50810 in your google search. the page has been scrambled, 404 errored, and scrubbed recently, it was typed by the business owner of "SEA BRAT", May25th, 2010. please do your diligence, spread this far and wide. 'SAVE OFFLINE", BEFORE WE CAN NOT FETCH IT ON THE INTERNET. EXPOSE the criminal BP, with documents like these! thank (you). burnit battleflag Goofy Thum

AGENDA 21

Seems to be activated

THIS IS AKIN TO THE ROMANS SALTING THE FIELDS

DESTROYING (for about 30-50 yrs) the Gulf and polluting the Gulf to such a level that it will lead to MANY COMMUNITIES DYING and sustenance fishing for many who forage in the environment...will leave some families with NOTHING TO EAT, for many who survive off of the sea life down there.

The booms were not exactly being set down like they can deploy them more effectively-but DID NOT...and gone all out to contain it and siphon oil up...continuously...but they acted AS THOUGH the GULF WERE A LOST CAUSE

even before the oil came so far inland...I did not see the level of effort or determination to offset the flow coming inland into estuaries of all kinds...destroying species as though we could make a few more.

Anyone down there-this is real and will have longterm effects-NEGATIVE to ones' health...The air, the seafood, the ground and many sources of water shall be contaminated but how much of their effort is directed at TRYING TO FORCE EVERYONE to accept their WATER PRIVATIZATION that they are carrying forward with

NO FOOD

NO WATER(critical for life)

THIS IS HOW THEY WILL MAKE MANY COMPLIANT TO RFID IMPLANTED CHIPS/OR PERMANENT TATTOO...once someone is hungry or thirsty enough-that is how it will be sold...for "safety", or "for peace and safety" and it shall be tied to all products...for anyone "...TO BUY OR TO SELL..." an RFID will be part and parcel of NANNY world

They create the crises and then they suggest 2 bad solutions and then force the public into feeling compelled to select one of the 2-3 bad options...they cannot have too many becoming aware of the truth-that the nanny world is real and they are sociopathic tyrants

and

THEY HAVE NO QUALMS KILLING MILLIONS

know them by their fruits...and the blood lust they seem to have.

Perversions to be sure, but very real...powers and principalities

Re: BREAKING: Coast Guard confirms oil sheen in Florida Keys; Officials lay protective boom
They (Nalco, Exxon, BP) are in a fight to the wall against my bioremediation technologies. Because if the world sees it work they not only loose sales on clean up. They have some explaining to do. They need to explain how they knew about this all along and did nothing over the decades. They need to actually clean things up.

They have been trying to steal the formulas for years. Nalco has approced us, Exxon had clean ups for us to do, etc. They typically say they need to test my products to make sure thay are safe… then ask for exact formula, CAS numbers (which identify chemicals) and the exact percentage by weight.

So they can steal formula.

This is going on now. While they were dumping Corexit my product was tied up in testing. The formulas were to be sent to… exxonmobile email addresses. The specifics were all about Nalco specification! Once they discovered my product rocked! They ordered 100,000 plus gallons then the shit hit the fan! Total regulatory freeze up for me. Nothing but testing and a shipping delay. They held up payments (which for a small family biz can be crushing) and stalled. They attempted to prevent us from telling the world we could produce anymore than 15000 gallons per day when in truth 100000 per day or more or possible for anyone under the appropriate business circumstances.

They were discovered by CNN and now mad at us. They had a confidentiality clause within the purchase order. But thier own COO anounce it to the press when drilled about toxic dispersants. Then CNN showed the month old hidden pile of Sea Brat! Now they want to hide it in a warehouse. They told us this. They said it would be put in storage, asked if we knew anyone who would buy it, then said they would pour it down the drain before they used it.

Now they are still using Corexit, the EPA is retesting my product, and BP is trying to close an oil volcano by shooting spitwads at it. All the while the press, government, public thinks throwing diapers at the spill and pouring trash into the oil gushers is an option.

Meanwhile every 5th grader out there know about bioremediation and wonders why the grownups can get it together.

John

Having grown up down there, I can say without any hesitation that the booms will be completely ineffective. The keys are islands, and the gulf side is dotted with hundreds, if not thousands of small mangrove islands where the birds and small fish spawn and grow. Because of the amount of area we're talking about, hundreds of square miles and how spread out it is, plus the regularly occurring high wave action, booms are nothing except a PR ploy to make people feel like they have done something.

If the oil gets there in any quantity, the keys are ruined.

I talked to a fishing guide down there today who hasn't seen any oil yet personally, but they are all worried.

So the tourism industry and the sports fishing industry and all those elderly that paid 100000s into the system will be basically offed by Bottomless Pit and Transocean...so THAT IS HOW THEY WILL GET MORE OF THE MEDICAID/MEDICARE $$$$$$...

See, it is pretty clear this is a mass sacrifice they are setting up-to free up the money...once these elderly are gone...what a boon to Barrys hellcare plan...so many will be sick and going to the docs...and the mystery illnesses that will come up...as they scratch their heads and restrict treatment-more will die...and no one will be held accountable for this abomination

Killing the elderly and wiping out their retirement homes and lives...displacing elderly can compromise their health-they are tied in with their communities...once they are stripped from their networks many will begin to have falterring health

DISGUSTING!!!

It seems we are all running around screaming frantically for the government to do something!! Why didn't they put out booms way beforehand? Why don't they suck the oil into tankers? Why do they prevent others from protecting their areas? Indeed. Why?! I think it's time to sit down and coldly realize that this is PLANNED. No other explanation makes any sense.

Rather than waste our energy in a completely futile exercise appealing to a government which is doing its dammdest to exacerbate the disaster (I mean, really - what sense does that make?), the focus should be on exposing their plots at minimum. Don't play their game - we should be cutting to the chase to react in effective ways, now that their true motives and gambits are becoming harder for them to disguise.

Yes, why didn't they suck the oil into tankers ! That is a common practice for spills, and it would have worked very well in this case. They could have captured most of the oil that way. It must have been too expensive for the bottom line, which is all the corporations care about.

One more thing.
This IS a political issue.

Obama didn't do his job and he STILL isn't.

Secondly, if you think he isn't going to use this disaster to pass Cap and Trade, you're naive.

He didn't approve the emergency measures states requested for a month.

He allowed BP to control the situation instead of letting the army Corps of Engineers tackle it.

He took money from BP and he DID turn a blind eye on restrictions.

When asked by the Whitehouse Press Corps weeks ago what Obama was doing Robert Gibbs stated ,"We sent BP a letter".

He could sign one of his beloved a signing statements fining BP Billions not 63 million.

They could put BP into receivership and take direct control of their operation.

He could use his alleged "organizing" skills to gather more volunteers.

It goes on and on dude don't try to defend this corporate shill.
