You can`t tell me BP hasn`t tried to suck some of the oil up yet..They know it`s not going to work and if it does work I`m guessing it might get 20% of the oil instead of 80 to 90 like they were shooting for..This is so fricken tragic it just makes me sick...In this age and time we should be able to shut this thing down in a heart beat regardless of how deep it is...waiting till august with a flow like this just isn`t a option...can`t be

Actually, the Kuwait Gulf spill is the worst 500,000,000 gallons

I would say this is more than they are saying but not this much yet..

I would stick with the velocimetry experts numbers being 4 million gallons per day

4,000,000 gallons/day x 46 days = 184,000,000 gallons

2nd largest ever and still going for 3 - 6 months...

90 days(3mos) = 360,000,000 gallons
180 days(6mos) = 720,000,000 gallons

But another thing to think about, that was his estimate before they cut the riser and now alot more is coming out..

Who knows at this point..

BP earns a PROFIT of 2 Billion per month... thats NET profit.

This is thought to be the 2nd largest Well in the World.


I think if this well could have made more than 3 billion in year in gross earnings easily.

They were sucking up 5000/bpd at one point and you couldnt even tell the difference, and that was one leak..

According to Purdue Mechanical Engineering Professor and velocimetry expert, there are 4,000,000 gallons per day at least for 31 days and still going..

4,000,000 gallons x 46 days = 184,000,000 gallons so far

there are almost a thousand manned oilrigs in the gulf alone not mentioning the unmanned rigs . i keep the spill at 7000 barrels a day .
