Even Patton himself says something to the effect they were a waste of some of the best military units ever in history since the Roman legions. Not to mention the German commanders were the greatest of all time so brilliant and tactically sound it is amazing the Germans do not get enough credit for their fighting power they took on practically everyone and almost won while have to handle Italy's problems in North Africa.
