I am setting up a protest this week on Thursday.....

From coast to coast, people are stepping up to the plate and organizing demonstrations for the Seize BP Week of Action in their cities and towns. We will take to the streets from Thursday, June 3 to Thursday, June 10 in cities across the country to demand: Seize BP!

bP? you retarded? i protest OIL PRODUCTS!
 Quoting: Truthseekr

Agreed, it's just myoptic to put the blame on one company, any of them could have created this fiasco, they have been allowed to go too far with too few safeguards, all for the almighty dollar.

Part of my contribution is to boycott gasoline. Period.

I don't have a car, the buses I take infrequently run on natural gas, so that helps. In fact, I haven't even been in a gas station for over a year.

Wanna hit them where it hurts? Don't play their game, show them you are stronger than they think.

You have nothing to lose but your credit cards.

It's raining today, so tommorow the kids and I will be protesting in front of BP.

I shouldn't laugh at this because I suppose it is a start in the right direction for some (making that mental paradigm shift)...BUT....

LMAO....you will protest when the weather is better??!!

Are you f-in serious?

Just gotta LOVE the commitment the a cause.

(sarcasm off)

This is a *perfect* example of one of the reasons this country is in the mess it is in.

I'll protest when the weather is better....

Actually, I've been boycotting BP since 2007, when Ron Paul brought to light the overthrow of Mossadeq in 1953 in Iran, which BP was COMPLETELY behind.

I guess BP is getting what-they-call their: "comeuppance"

ok well lets protest it all then - not just the convenient parts. turn off your computer, imagine how much gas and oil was used in the creation of that product. The exploration for the materials, the processing of them, the shipping of the product, the guy that sold you the computers use of gas and oil getting to and from work, then not to mention your use of it.
Protest solar power also because BP is a very big player in the research and development of that technology.
Don't fly, BP provides a very large amount of aviation fuel, so that also means to air shipping anything.
Don't even get me started on all the other products from lipstick to lubricants. face it, you will use products that use the stuff BP makes, no matter how hard you think you are trying not to.

Good luck living like a cave man.

Re: Anyone Else Protesting BP?
I feel bad about this. I had always chosen to use the local BP gas guy. My town has an intersection with three gas stations, and I pick BP. Why? First, because the guy is really nice. And second, he was the ONLY one in two towns not to put in "pre-pay" after the spate of drive-offs during the height of the prices last summer. My gas gauge is broken and I never know how much I need because I just always have to fill it and keep track on the odometer. It's really convenient not to have to trot across a 112 degree parking lot in the blazing sun into and out of the store a bunch of times to pay and get money back if I miscalculate.

But I have not been buying gas from the guy since the BP thing began. I know that mostly it hurts HIM, not so much BP. But I just don't feel right about buying BP gas when BP is so demonstrably evil.

Re: Anyone Else Protesting BP?
The last thing we need right now is a bankrupt BP with no money for the clean-up or to pay people for their losses.

You would do better to protest the federal government which has been so slow to organize a containment of the oil spreading and the clean-up.
 Quoting: anonanon 993374

Not sure I follow this logic. It's BP responsibility to contain the oil and clean up. Not the government's!

The government should release emergency disaster funds on the coast to help individuals and businesses suffering from losses due to the oil.

But the government knows NOTHING about containing an oil spill or cleaning it up. Private sector definitely knows how to do this better than the government - and BP is responsible for this. Sadly, this disaster is so great, containment is going to be difficult even for the experts....:(

Now, the government SHOULD hold BP's feet to the fire and absolutely accountable. And Haliburton. And Transocean. They all have bloody hands in this mess.

please understand the consequences of NOT having BP in the US any longer. someone else will just come in and buy their assets. Nothing will change, remember it isn't BPs well out there leaking oil, and it wasn't BPs employees that didn't follow protocol on the rig when there was a problem. The next oil company will just get the same plant, same rigs, and contract the same companies to do the same work, just at a higher cost to YOU.

You are correct, but there is a problem...

We do absolutely depend on oil and for no reason...

None other than money...

The US Govt has known about free energy since at least 1898 when Nikola Tesla discovered free energy...And I am sure it was known before then...

The fact is the oil industry suckered this whole world into dependence..

And now its time to take the power back...

Its time we not only protest BP but all oil in general..It is time to move on...

I have said this a few times on here...

Our planet is very unique. Our planet is literally a living creature. What makes our planet so special is the fact it is the only planet in our solar system that supports life and it uses its resources to make that possible...

What happens when we rob the earth of all of its resources that make it possible to breathe fresh air or drink fresh water??...We die

What happens when you pull the insides out of any living creature?...It dies

If we dont stop, we will just be another lifeless planet that wont support life..

Wow. Apparently you are a BP employee, or a major stockholder.

If I'm wrong about you, then you may want to consider digging through youtube looking for the 60 minutes Mike Williams interview. Then you'll get an idea as to the extent of BP's complicity in this disaster.

If you're too lazy to do that then suffice to say that you're more than a little bit wrong.

I'm sure the BP brass are quaking in their boots watching you walk around in the rain carrying your placards while they sip martinis and get rubdowns from hookers. Besides all those BP stations are independently owned by mostly Americans. And who really knows how many different names their crap is marketed under. They will make a killing out of this (no pun intended), they shorted their own stock though Goldman to the tune of 4 billion and their total liability is only around 70 million. Plus they will process the oil they are recovering for a huge profit. It's a win/win situation for them. We are just going to have to let God sort this one out.

we do have the means to do it now, but it is not cost effective, and at this point we will not switch to such technology simply to be "green". it has to be cost effective.
