Anyone Else Protesting BP?

I am setting up a protest this week on Thursday.....

From coast to coast, people are stepping up to the plate and organizing demonstrations for the Seize BP Week of Action in their cities and towns. We will take to the streets from Thursday, June 3 to Thursday, June 10 in cities across the country to demand: Seize BP!

It's raining today, so tommorow the kids and I will be protesting in front of BP.


I shouldn't laugh at this because I suppose it is a start in the right direction for some (making that mental paradigm shift)...BUT....

Actually, I've been boycotting BP since 2007, when Ron Paul brought to light the overthrow of Mossadeq in 1953 in Iran, which BP was COMPLETELY behind.

I guess BP is getting what-they-call their: "comeuppance"

It's raining today, so tommorow the kids and I will be protesting in front of BP.

The last thing we need right now is a bankrupt BP with no money for the clean-up or to pay people for their losses.

You would do better to protest the federal government which has been so slow to organize a containment of the oil spreading and the clean-up.

ok well lets protest it all then - not just the convenient parts. turn off your computer, imagine how much gas and oil was used in the creation of that product. The exploration for the materials, the processing of them, the shipping of the product, the guy that sold you the computers use of gas and oil getting to and from work, then not to mention your use of it.
Protest solar power also because BP is a very big player in the research and development of that technology.
Don't fly, BP provides a very large amount of aviation fuel, so that also means to air shipping anything.
Don't even get me started on all the other products from lipstick to lubricants. face it, you will use products that use the stuff BP makes, no matter how hard you think you are trying not to.

yea I went to get gas yesterday

BP on one side of the street was totally empty

other gas station had cars waiting in line..

I chose the "other" gas station and waited in line..

I will never buy gas at a BP station again

please understand the consequences of NOT having BP in the US any longer. someone else will just come in and buy their assets. Nothing will change, remember it isn't BPs well out there leaking oil, and it wasn't BPs employees that didn't follow protocol on the rig when there was a problem. The next oil company will just get the same plant, same rigs, and contract the same companies to do the same work, just at a higher cost to YOU.

You are correct, but there is a problem...

We do absolutely depend on oil and for no reason...

None other than money...

The US Govt has known about free energy since at least 1898 when Nikola Tesla discovered free energy...And I am sure it was known before then...

The fact is the oil industry suckered this whole world into dependence..

And now its time to take the power back...

Its time we not only protest BP but all oil in general..It is time to move on...

Our planet is very unique. Our planet is literally a living creature. What makes our planet so special is the fact it is the only planet in our solar system that supports life and it uses its resources to make that possible...

What happens when we rob the earth of all of its resources that make it possible to breathe fresh air or drink fresh water??...We die

If we dont stop, we will just be another lifeless planet that wont support life..

BP pushed this rig harder and faster than safety regulations permit..

BP drilled deeper than the permits allowed them to...

BP knew 3 weeks before this happened that the BOP broke and was spitting pieces of it back up the drill pipe..

BP knew the BOP failed tests


And they did nothing about it, other than tell the workers they were losing a million dollars per day and to drill faster, work longer hours and get it done..

and this is my stance. we need to research alternative energy and make it affordable. i, for one, do not have the money to do major R&D into this field. i purpose letting these big oil companies develop cost effective alternative energy then dumping them for it.

we do have the means to do it now, but it is not cost effective, and at this point we will not switch to such technology simply to be "green". it has to be cost effective.

BP didn't have a single employee on the rig, the coast guard is the responsible party for testing the BOP so if it did fail a test then i guess they will be held liable.

Let the OIL COMPANIES develope free energy??
