Sir, You are absolutely entitled to your opinion as am I and in my opinion if you think the US national anthem is only about the praises of war and death then you have sorely misinterpreted it. Sure it does talk about war and with war is death but to me that is not the underlining message. To me, when I hear or read the lyrics, it is about the people of the US and the fight they go through to keep the country they love free. Its about the flag standing for those freedoms and a reminder that it can be hard sometimes to have those freedoms. Its about looking at the flag and feeling proud but also remembering the sacrifices made so that flag can still wave and still mean you are a free man under it. In my opinion that is what it is supposed to mean. Unfortunately due to a corrupt government, hearing the anthem and taking in its meaning has been skewed to a point where people like you think of it as a song promoting warmongering. Do you hate America so much you cant see past a corrupt government enough to see the meaning behind its anthem?

Nobody likes war but it's an unfortunate event that has occurred throughout the long pages of history. War has been used for good and it has definitely been used for bad.

The individual soldier can only hope that the reason is just, since they are at the behest of one individual. It's part of life and there is absolutely nothing you nor anyone else can do about it. We are all just small specks of dust in the big scheme of things.
