Watching those videos is just damn depressing.

Tell me about! They claim they are catching so much but how much is escaping?

It doesn't seem to show up on the other cameras but is very obvious on Hero 14

What is the thing that's flying around sending out sparks in Hero 6? It almost looks like an electrical line that has been cut or frayed, but is still live.

That does look strange and certainly looks like flames inside the plume.

No idea but it does look like it's arcing or something.

It's gotta be flames! I have been watching this on and off since the link was first posted and no time have I seen this.

I wonder if this is deliberate or it's accidentally caught alight? Maybe it's burning off the gasses.

like one of those towers you see out in the oil fields that has flames coming out of the top where it is burning off the stuff

what if they did not start the fire?

what if they are letting the oil leak out to cover the view of the gas on fire?

That cable looks like it just sparked inside the oil.

Those are flames, Id bet on it, and posted a while back here that I had dreamed it as well..

I keep dreaming about fire. A Bad fire in relation to the oil. Wanted to post, for a 'just in case'.

that thing that looks like fire has been there for days

since they put that top hat on

either they are burning off the gas or this is something they can't control

thinking once enough methane melts in the ocean this could blow and if it flashes high enough up through the ocean could light the oil plume on fire

been reading about craters on the ocean floor due to methane explosions

so that methane down there does explode now and then

only the ocean is not FULL of methane when it blows like it is now.

if they are burning it off then it is a very stupid thing to do

I believe that "fire" is the dispersant being added to the gusher.

Are you saying it's not fire - just dispersant or that the dispersant is on fire?

No question in my mind - that's fire!

I believe the yellow seen is the color of the cap....
it appears from time to time in the gusher and it makes it look like flame...my 2 cents
