They should throw that friggin VP in jail right now.
He is a lying ahole, they can have teams of cleaners cleaning the beach. If the mayor of orange beach threw the BP VP in jail, he can have the VP's little but on the beach cleaning up tar with the other drunks.
 Quoting: bamafan 970789

If BP officials are physically in an affected zone, would one of these mayors be able to throw the sacks of shit in jail ?

I know in Louisiana, BP called a conference for all the fishermen, and nobody from BP showed up.
 Quoting: ZTE

I think BP is all about corporate survival and lawyering up at this point. I would not be surprised to see shareholder lawsuits against management for being too forthcoming to the public, as sick as that sounds, since it will admit to liability.

ironic

the gov's of florida and other states are uptight

but they did not protest putting oil rigs off their shores

niether did the people

but now they want money and to whine

how about not being in the back pocket of the rich

oh yeah, they pretend they are not to stupid people

The only reason that we are drilling way off shore is because of the stupid environmentalists(Socialists The cause was hijacked a long time ago))...there are plenty of safer places to drill but everything is tied up in litigation.. so what is left.. High risk zones...

Risky or not, there is plenty of evidence of BP making plenty of reckless operational decisions on the DH. There is a reason the Halliburton (Schlumberger?) guys getting out of dodge a few hours before the explosion.

What CONFIRMS that this IS a 'controlled enviornmental DISASTER IS, they REFUSE to use the OIL EATING BACTERIA that is readily available AND was SO SUCCESSFUL in other DOCUMENTED spills, but continue to use INEFFECTIVE methods that a CLEARLY NOT WORKING.

The oil eating bacteria REALLY clean up the beach AND Ocean areas, as PROVEN by experiment shown in a video.

The REAL REASON BP does NOT want to use the bacteria, IS that it is like sucking paper money littering a floor into a
Vacuum cleaner that ALSO DESTROYS it TOO !

The oil eating bacteria do the SAME thing; DESTROY the oil that represents MONEY to BP, as long as they can collect it and SELL IT , REGARDLESS of the damage done !

Eagle

They are using oil bacteria, microbes, and nanoparticles, where have you been!
Thread: Desperate actions in Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill disaster, Experimental Oil eating bacteria/microbes, causing unexpected results.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 978629

They just recently arranged to ORDER some oil eating bacteria---they found one that allows them to recover the oil so they can keep it. They haven't been using anything other than a toxic poison disburement that is killing everything in its wake. They haven't used but a small number of the boats and people that were supposedly 'hired' to clean up. Many of them are sitting on theior butts waiting for BP to give them the go ahead.

What are people in Alabama and Florida going to do once they realize that BP now has total control over their beaches and waters. BP will do them like they did in Louisiana. Why do you think Tony Hayword walked away from it this week. He's still going to get the job done for BP, but he didn't want to be accessible because, a foreign corporation is about to put the entire gulf coast of America under marshall law and the local police forces are going to take their order from BP, not the people

All you beaches are now ours!

I DON'T know anything about bacteria from China, and that which WAS USED/DEMONSTRATED had NO nano particles etc. involved. Are you obfuscating to muddy/'oil up' the waters ??

Eagle
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 989243

Chinese bacteria= bad idea

There is a better, available and proven technology which converts oil into food for EXISTING bacteria. (one of the ingredients is blackstrap molasses) There is no need to introduce oxygen-destroying bio-engineered bacteria -but most likely a company owned by BP in China makes it.

This is another reason why states should pay for cleanup and get back their expenditures in court..they could safely get this job done.

The navy, given orders from Washington, should be making an oil blockade, using oil sweepers to gather all this...but that wont happen.

BECAUSE WASHINGTON DOES WHAT ITS TOLD and its being told to do nothing.

If any one of us here where president, we would have hired the unemployed, paid them with BPs money, and sent them to all the beaches to clean up. We would have the navy in charge sealing the hole and in charge of of all cleanup operations. We would also have BP heads on a stick greedy scum.

if the guilty parties from BP were publicly punished.. that would at least help ( hard punishment)

If this had occurred in Chinese waters, let's ask ourselves

What would China do?

They would open up a chain of Chinese food outlets right next to BP gas stations,

called "Me Quack" and serve you "Golf Duk" ... pelicans flied in oil.

And you would tell your "flens" how good "flied Gulf Duck" is with hot mustard.

I don't know if anyone has considered this, but it crossed my mind the other day. What if, a major hurricane makes landfall on the gulf coast and pushes all this oil inland?
A Cat. 4 or Cat.5 would push oil serveral miles inland and into peoples homes and businesses and onto streets etc. It would kill all the vegitation it touched and possibly contaminate water supplies. After all this I seriously doubt people would allowed back in to their communities with oil covering everything. People would be forced to be displaced and unable to return to their homes. I would imagine it would be a marshall law like situation. Maybe I'm crazy but this sounds like it could become reality.

i agree about the environmental movement. over the years, i watched them highjack the enviro movement, the women's movement, the minority rights movement, etc.

seems Texans (for the most part not always) don't want drilling in the ocean period and keep talking about getting out of oil entirely. we have seen first hand what these oil rigs blowing up do to the ocean, and we have seen what the oil business on the land has done to the air quality and the water quality. water wells on the land can get contaminated by petroleum industry byproducts from rigs on land next door. hell, the water in Odessa is gross -- everyone bitches about it.

but, we are also aware that the oil interests have the politicians in their back pocket, and the issue is almost impossible to fight. i kept asking other Texans when do you think it will change. the main answer has been, "i guess, when they find a more profitable alternative or when the oil companies screw up bad enough."

fighting nuclear energy and nuclear waste has taken priority down here. seems we are always having to fight them putting a nuke dump here or a super-collider or something. the folks in Van Horn who fought the last nuke dump where targeted with The Zap (DE energy weapons) and harassment. a friend of mine who was the head of the main Texas group fighting nuclear plants and energy down here in the 80s was beat up by guys in suits, many of his bones broken, and he was dumped out in the boonies and left to die (he almost did not live).

i could tell you stories. it became just too dangerous to fight the government or corporations on certain issues. we need numbers, masses of people to fight along side of us.

bad things happen to activists. that is why you just don't see that many activists like you used to. the real activists (not the plants or the co-opted ones) have just been waiting for the rest of the people to wake up so that we could have a real movement for change not just a small group of folks fighting and getting their bones broken, or getting killed, or harassed.

we have been at war basically, and the average person is just now finding that out.

i think so too. They could help folks get out of there, and then they could go back in hazmat suits or planes and apply that microbe that turns the oil into fish food.

Frankly, I think the Navy should be in charge, and I don't think they should be waiting on the president to authorize that. Isn't this defending the country working on this issue?

Oh you watched a video! Well, I guess we should have done the same, instead of spending years researching the effects of genetically engineered bacteria, microbes, and Nanopartials on the environment! We didn't even need to write that letter to the EPA! "the tiny bit of info posted on that thread" was three pages long, and cause my computer to get hacked from China for posting what I know, Before BP started using Nalco's genetically engineered dispersant! Again, keyword for the day is, genetically engineered bacteria, microbes, Nanopartials and “proprietary” ingredients! We can only guess at what these are doing to the natural bacteria's.

Why do we insist BP or Nalco disclose “proprietary” ingredients. We should just go relax, and watch your video.

The ramifications of the gulf leak will be far
reaching. We are currently only seeing a tiny tip
of the proverbial iceberg. Obama should have declared
a national emergency weeks ago. Getting this thing under
control requires a national effort and all the nations
resources. The current cleanup is like a guy with a mop
trying to keep up with a thousand guys with fire hoses.
Stopping the leak is imperative. The rate of the leak
flowing into the gulf is the rate that the oil and gas have to be (sucked up) at the source. A large "vessel" must be
placed over the leak. This vessel must have feed off pipes
(Many of them) to suck off the oil and gasses.
