Mayor Kennon is right. The skimmers should be lined up out there, and BP should not be sparing any expense..

CNN grilled Thad Allen this morning about Alabama Mayors calls to bring in skimmers went ignored...

Thad Allen said they responded but it was a "mechanical failure" of the booms and unfortunately it was too late...

I've been arguing for years that if c-suite executives are to be paid lottery-jackpot sized compensation that they've got to do away with limited liability.

There are NO rigs along the Florida coasts.

Is the EPA involved at all? Why aren't there volunteers cleasning up the tar washing up on the beach? After watching the video on the Pensacola Fl beach...it makes me wonder Whatare we waiting for? It seems that something else (whatever that could be) is taking a higher priority than the protection of the environment for our country? Not to mention the health of the American public that live in the coastal area.

Good for him. This is the first time since the spill started that someone had the balls to tell BP they are not in charge. These are our beaches not BP's. What are people in Alabama and Florida going to do once they realize that BP now has total control over their beaches and waters. BP will do them like they did in Louisiana. Why do you think Tony Hayword walked away from it this week. He's still going to get the job done for BP, but he didn't want to be accessible because, a foreign corporation is about to put the entire gulf coast of America under marshall law and the local police forces are going to take their order from BP, not the people

The key to winning over such spokesperson clowns: Recognizing when they use one of the rhetorical tricks they learned in their "how to deal with the public" courses:

"I know your frustration..."
Intended effect: "Oh he understands how I feel. Let's not be too hard on the guy, he's just doing his job."

"I'll be happy to talk to you, once..."
Intended effect: "I'll have a chance to talk to him later, so what's the point in getting unhinged in front of the camera."

It's sad that the public falls for these simple tricks again and again.

this is a national disaster why isnt the public ,the whole comunity helping to clean it up?

if the guilty parties from BP were publicly punished.. that would at least help ( hard punishment)
