CLOWN AC 978629 ..... Obviously you flunked English READING comprehension before you DROPPED OUT of sixth grade !

The post YOU refer to ONLY SAYS that they ' have the technology ....' NOT THAT THEY ARE USING IT !

Now collect your shill money from BP !

BP still refused to release “proprietary” ingredients.

You could not have read through 3 pages of research, or this letter from scientists in just a few minutes.

eagle,
These are not natural bacterias they used in the Exxon Valdez spill. These will kill off the natural oil eating bacterias.

BP IS using genetically engineered bacterias, microbes, and untested nanoparticles.

They should be using sponges, and hays to soak up the oil now.

Dumping more natural oil eating bacterias into the area right now, won't do any good, because these China made genetically engineered bacterias, microbes, and untested nanoparticles, will consume them. Don't you understand?

Well, in reading this thread it suddenly hit me again of why Obama seems to be doing very little.

I think he's really scared. The whole government is scared.

The gov. was the one who gave BP the go ahead to drill. There were lots of payoffs involved and an investigation is going to prove that.

BP is nothing more than a corporation out to make money, so when the investigation starts digging further and further back, who will be the ones the finger will really point at?

Could be the US gov.

As expected and predicted, the people will need to take control of this crisis. The people must give the orders, not a bunch of rich scumbags, particularly rich scumbags that got rich from stealing our money.

Washington works for the people. States give the orders. PERIOD.

I said, no fucking way...It is toxic and making fisherman sick and BP will pay to have stoolies clean it up...Not to mention BP threatened everyone not to touch their oil and threatened arrest for anyone going near it...

The PR guy said the job is to get the oil leak stopped.

WRONG!!

It's only part of the job.

It is imperative that the oil be removed from the water so that it doesn't poison the water, wildlife, pets, plants and people.

BP's interest is in collecting more oil that they can sell ... and hiding the oil they can't sell.

All the rest is collateral damage to them.

AC 978629.... I may owe you an apology, BUT, the tiny bit of info posted on that thread DID SAY the bacteria was being considered, not used. No, I didn't read the long article, but I did view a video that PROVED they oil eating bacteria DID do an excellent job in several other spills AND in a controlled experiment.

I DON'T know anything about bacteria from China, and that which WAS USED/DEMONSTRATED had NO nano particles etc. involved. Are you obfuscating to muddy/'oil up' the waters ??

The navy, given orders from Washington, should be making an oil blockade, using oil sweepers to gather all this...but that wont happen.

BECAUSE WASHINGTON DOES WHAT ITS TOLD and its being told to do nothing.

If any one of us here where president, we would have hired the unemployed, paid them with BPs money, and sent them to all the beaches to clean up. We would have the navy in charge sealing the hole and in charge of of all cleanup operations. We would also have BP heads on a stick greedy scum.

As for me, I would NOT lift one finger trying to clean this crude up, unless the proper PPE (personal protective equipment) is provided by BP.

Like rubber gloves, impermeable chemical-splash suits (non Tyvec), standard 1 piece rubber boots or safety boots with splash slip ons, protective goggles, respiratory protection.

The major issue with wearing this level C PPE is the heat, wearing this PPE should be done for 30 minutes with 30 to 60 minutes break.

How many has been splashed with gas, diesel, heating oil or a few other "light" oils? It burns, the crude can and will burn skin more severely than light oils. It will not evaporate like light oils.

Also with the water temp in the area being quite warmer, this is allowing the oil to spread more rapidly. Which means more individuals along the shore lines will come in contact with the crude.

The lighter parts of the crude oil, i.e. toluene and benzene will have evaporate before reaching shore, but either with it or without it, the crude will still burn the skin.

As for vapors that individuals smell, long term exposure can cause severe respiratory reactions with some individuals. I do remember reading that the locals should start cleaning this mess up, all I can say, beware of the possible side effects.

These corporate types only care about the dollar. And why shouldn't they be arrogant? It's not like the fascist commie pig we have in office will do anything to them except demand a big pay-off from letting them off the hook.

Re: Alabama Mayors Hijack BP Press Conference!!!
The Navy does not see defense of the ocean as their task. Therefore when you ask an Admiral why he isn't moving, he really doesn't understand why you are confused. The Navy exists to float machinery and human resources to wherever.

But what we have here, is a local Mayor, who is trying tobe respectful of the national chain of Corporate Command, an is struggle with that.

This Mayor is explaining that they got the oil cornered and there were no boats to help. To him, it is a puzzle because he expects the high-ups to defend his parish, and thereby, the citizens of the US.

So he's saying, "There was no boats to collect the oil anyway!" and then the counter argument is "Oh well it's too hard to get tankers in there" to which the counter argument is, "BULLSHIT any boat will do and you can move them in with tugs if you are worried about collision!" to which the counter argument is "Oh but that costs too much and anyway, we have chemical dish soap which will help nature absorb the oil!" --SO you go round in circles.

There needs to be a prime time TV debate with EVERYONE IN THE COG HIERARCHY and also the mayors of the Parishes. If we do not immediately make DOOMB and SECDEF and HOMESECSEC and POTUS sit down with the people on the ground and face them in from of the unflinching EYE of ALL SEEING, if we do not have that moment, now, then how shall these titles and powers successfully govern the people when SHTF and they are operating from 50k feet in jets?

It is time for the national Eye of Sauron aka TV, to focus its gaze on GLP right now, in primetime, with all the members of COG, we expect to be airborne and godlike, to come down to the level of godlike.

If this had occurred in Chinese waters, let's ask ourselves

What would China do?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 728979

They would open up a chain of Chinese food outlets right next to BP gas stations,

called "Me Quack" and serve you "Golf Duk" ... pelicans flied in oil.

And you would tell your "flens" how good "flied Gulf Duck" is with hot mustard.

There needs to be a new industry in the Gulf until this disaster subsides: 24/7 skimming and sucking of oil with every available vessel. I think this is what has angered so many...boats sitting idle while the oil just destroys everything. Why isn't there a freaking floatilla of skimmers and oil containment vessels out there? Barry could really up his jobs numbers if he'd put some people to work out there instead of at the census fudging their hours...

Fixed the premium price increase for you.

This price difference has always been a scam.

If there was any validity in it, the history would show consistancy, yet it does not.

When the price of regular was 70 cents a gallon,

premium was 90 cents.

When the price of regular was $1.70 a gallon,

premium was $1.90

When the price of regular was $2.70 a gallon,

premium was $2.90

Now the price is $3.70 for regular.

Guess what the premium price is?

Yep, you guessed it, it's %3.90

Do you see a pattern here?

It's always been 10 cents a gallon more.

If there were addditional costs for production,

they would have kept the price at 20% across the board.

Premium would be a dollar more per gallon not 10 cents.

You are correct, but these ops SHOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN IN PLACE.

1. From BP...they KNOW what is required and they know who to hire to manage operations. There are specialty companies at the ready with proper equip and PPE for oil disaster response.

2. The state and local govs *should have* long-standing contingency plans for oil disaster given their locations and the industry. Someone will be hard pressed to convince me they do not.

3. The crude swirled for weeks at sea...WTF were these people doing? On both counts: BP AND local/state response units? Oh FFS, what about all the tax $$ FEMA has stolen from us for such responses?

Where the fark are the response teams with the plans, and equipment?

I don't get it.
