Can you imagine what we are facing? Remember how large Hurricane Ivan was? It filled almost then entire Gulf of Mexico. NOW IMAGINE THAT ON FIRE!!!! And it won't be just the South. These hurricanes often sweep up through Tennessee, Virginia, Washington D.C., and NEW YORK CITY!!! as tropical storms before heading back out to see into the North Atlantic. Imagine seeing a firestorm miles high bearing down of New York City and Washington. The SYFY Channel can't even imagine this doom. |

Remember, when I said I dreamed about this firestorm in December of 2003? Aaron Charles Donahue, even if you are now a pariah, you were right! You were right! Quoting: starbattle 883251No I dont remember that. It was over a decade ago. Do you have a link? I'd love to hear about some details. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 988203 United States 06/06/2010 03:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | No. Quoting: TheWholeTruthWhy No ? Oil fire is like a Grease Fire... you can throw water on it, but that will only help to spread the fire. Hurricanes regularly spin of tornadoes also. COMPACT LIVING NIGHTMARES OF FLAME spinning across the land!!! Get ready for it. Have you ever lit a styrofoam cup and seen the drips of flame it makes with the ppppphhhhhhhzzzzztttttt sound? That is what each rain droplet will sound like. Billions of them falling all over the landscape. Once it gets on you it will BURN!!! |

TheWholeTruth (OP) User ID: 994930 United States 06/07/2010 04:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | r u trying to say the gulf coast will burn? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 980485yes, wherever the number of hurricanes travel. Oil is fuel, the hurricane(s) will spread this fuel on land....while also downing power lines to provide a spark. The firestorm may not take place at the same time as the hurricane, it might be days later. Firestorm is the Doom, Hurricane is its vessel. Be Prepared to Run For Your Life! Anonymous Coward User ID: 757124 United States 06/07/2010 05:39 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hurricane FIRESTORM! Be Prepared for the REAL doom! Quoting: TheWholeTruthOnce a Hurricane comes and brings all this oil on shore...it will only take 1 down power line to cause the worst possible scenario imaginable. It will make the Chicago firestorm of 1871 look like a camp fire. This is my biggest concern. Once you hear a Hurricane is on its way... Be prepared to RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! (no link - its just common sense that a hurricane will wash oil on shore...and that oil is flammable, and that hurricanes often down power lines. It all adds up to the worst Dooom imaginable) Oil won't be picked up by the wind the quantities you're imagining. Best, and worst, case scenario, the storm surge brings large amounts of water with oily film on it and deposits it a couple miles inland. Any rivers/streams withing the path of the storm surge may get oil further up. Any fires will be burn out quickly since the oil will be not be very concentrated and in patches. The rain will help prevent structures from catching fire. Anyway.. Nice visual though. FIRESTORM!! haha. good stuff. |
