Family Member's Bizarre Behavior - Connected to what's coming? What does he know?

I have a relative who is recently retired from the air force. I don't know his exact title, but he was a survivalist expert/trainer. He'd get dropped into remote areas with a group of soldiers and teach them how to live off the land. Once when I was a kid I asked him if he knew anything about aliens. I don't remember where he was stationed at the time, but he'd spent a lot of time at Wright AFP and said if the government had any evidence they were keeping it at Wright. He told me there were areas within the base that you had to have pretty high security to get into and within those already very secure areas were even higher security areas that had signs posted warning you'd be shot on sight if you attempted to enter without authorization.

Skip ahead about 20 years and within the last six months this relative has left his wife of 30 years and essentially bugged out. He's broken off almost all communication, and I think he might be "off the grid" and using his survival skills to live off the land. Everyone else in the family thinks he's having a mid-life crisis but with everything I've been learning about here at GLP, I'm suspicious. I wonder if he knows what's coming and is saving himself or going crazy because of his knowledge?

What do you guys think? Anyone hearing similar stories of military guys acting like this?
