No, not even close. I stopped dating under 25 when I was in my thirties.

I'm not even sexually attracted, they're like sweet, innocent children when they're that young.

Besides, if you're over 40 and still in the market, why would you waste your time on someone who has so little to offer? Someone that young has a lot of developing to do before they can be a serious relationship candidate. And if you're still avoiding serious relationships at 40, you're not gowing.

I would not date a 22 years old and I am not even 40 yet. I would not want to think I have to be kissing my children's pals.

Re: Would a mature woman date a 22 year old guy if they had the chance?
a lot of women that are older run into the old "men my age....well their dick doesnt work" syndrome.

i have been hit on by MANY older women, simply for that reason.

both genders want to feel young again. and both will seek out any means possible to feel this.

i find also though, it takes a very mature younger guy to get with older women, unless it is just for dick. if you want to get one worth keeping, it will take more than a hard cock.

Chances are that some of these "old men" in their forties gave up in their thirties because they bought the myth of inevitable steep declines. IOW, they didn't take care of their bodies, not realizing that you can be energetic in bed at an older age than conventional wisdom would dictate. Look at Sting, for a dramatic example of great sexual stamina. This is what can be achieved if you take care of your body. You can have the vigor of your younger self with the maturity of your older self.

When I was 22 I like women about 19 to 21.

When I was 30 I liked 'em about 25.

When I was 40 I still liked 'em about 25.

Years later (late 50's now) even a 40 year old looks pretty good - but most of them won't even look at me.

Define "serious relationship".
 Quoting: Vision Thing

To me, a serious relationship is one where both people have the ability to influence each other's life, feelings, mind and/or circumstances. It's not necessarily that one has the financial resources and connections to improve another one's material and social status. But in a serious relationship someone can affect who you are as a person -- open you to a new level in some way. He/she changes you or grows you in some way.

Or, it could be love. If you love someone, it changes you.

IMO there's a definite division between people under 25 and people over 25. They are still in a clueless cocoon of innocent naivete that clings to very young adults like baby fat. It's hard to take anything from someone that is still living in a world of their idealistic expectations. It's hard to not unintentionally lie to children who believe everything you say... you have to go out of your way to make sure they really understand the things you say, and are not just projecting imagination and infatuation into everything.

And the age is a generalization. I'm sure there are 23 year olds out who had unusually mature experiences, there who can teach immature 42 year olds plenty about life. But IMO those are the exception, not a rule.

An immature woman 40+ would date a boy that age. A mature woman however would not. This is the same for men.

As a 39 year old female I would not date someone that much younger than myself.

But I will add that age differences can be worked out. My husband was 16 years older than myself and we were married for 16 years until he passed away a year ago this month. He did not look nor act his age.

Re: Would a mature woman date a 22 year old guy if they had the chance?
I'm a 34 year old woman (it doesn't actually sound right calling myself a woman because I don't feel like one!). Since I turned about 25 I have pretty much always dated younger guys. I wouldn't even really say it's just about the sex. I just think maybe I'm emotionally immature for my age and always connect better with people who are younger than me, girls or guys, even as friends. I'm also a very open minded nonjudgmental person and take people at face value most the time. So if I genuinely get along with people regardless of their age then it doesn't even bother me what age they are. If you connect and are on the same wave length what should it matter.

I also don't like how people can brand older woman as cougars like we are some predatory animal, not everything is always about sex. Everyone wants to find someone to connect with and if they happen to be younger than so be it. You may say why do I always seem to date younger then if age doesn't matter. I guess because I've always acted and looked younger for my age, and have therefore attracted the younger guys. I have dated older guys too (through friends pestering), and what I have found is the older men get (most of them) get stuck in their ways and boring, and because I'm immature I guess,it's not very attractive for me at least.

I was 25 when I dated my first younger guy and he was 17, we dated for about 3 years. I have dated someone who was 21 and 25 when I was in my 30's, and I also attracted some naughtiness (LOL) when I was was in my thirties with an 18 year old. Now I am 34 and I actually haven dated anyone for a while (3 years). I have 2 kids which I had when I was 20, have my own home, and I don't feel like I NEED a guy for security or to look after me. I just concentrate on finding people that I get on with pretty much, although I would say I think 18 would definitely be the limit for me now!. I currently am good friends with a 19 year old guy who is very mature for his age and would love to date him but we will see what happens. My grandad was 15 years younger than my nan and also one of the guys I dated when I was 25 and he was 17, his dad was 15 years younger than his mum, happily married since he was 16! So it can work, just depends on each individual I guess and what they are looking for. I understand that alot of women though are not as open minded about this kind of thing though and are mentally/emotionally more mature not to want a younger guy relationship.

If she hasn't been presented with any better choices in a while and is down on her luck, she may just try it!! I sure did. He's very sweet and persuasive! Although I'm not 40 yet but it's still a 14 yr age gap!! I have not even been open much to dating late 20's and then here comes a 22 yr old with the right moves! Lol. I see it this way: a man my age has little to show me that I don't already know. A young man can introduce me to things fresh and new..such as; activities, music, technology, etc.! I'm excited about meeting him! A few years ago I would have never been open to this. I would never ever go after a 22 yr old. This was completely his doing and persuasion.

whether we admit it or not, we are all subconsciously attracted to mates who are the most fertile, which is about 18-25 year olds for both women and men. just my opinion.

I was 38 when I met my husband who was 23 and weve been happily married for 7 yrs..

Yes it can work, if the two people are on the same wavelength.. similar interests, same mind set etc..

I didnt know he was that young fyi.. he looked to be late 20's early 30's .. when i found out his age, I figured hell this wont work, but hey a spring fling wont kill me.. well 7 springs later and we are both very glad I didnt send him packing lol..

When i say "mature" i mean from the age 40+. Would a relationship with that type of age gap be able to work out? I met a sexy cougar on dating club cougarconnecting (dot com).I'm 22 and i am more attracted to the older women. but i have never been in a situation where i have had the chance to ask out any on a date, but if the chance came then i would definitely take it.
 Quoting: Iamboring

I have no idea WTF is wrong with women these days. I'm single, late 40's and go to dating sites. I try to talk to women but women my age all want men from ages 25-40. I'm talking 45-49 year old women. None are interested in men my age. And half of the women are only looking to date black guys.

I personally know a 43 year old woman dating a 20 year old kid. They think they are "in love".

Note to whores: You're a middle aged women who should not be fucking someone young enough to be your son. When you do, whether they say it to your face or not but your family and friends think you're a whore.
