So we had a wedding this weekend, waited til the very last minute, booked a condo for super cheap, then enjoyed PCB for possibly the last time in my life (God, I hope not).
Some details:
-Beach was pretty-near empty for this time of year.
-ALL the locals were talking about the oil spill.
-We tried to charter a boat for fishing (again, thinking we may never get a chance to do it again) and every company we called had answering services saying they were helping w. the BP cleanup efforts, but the Marinas were full.
-Never saw any oil-related stuff in the water, but was entertained by schools of stingrays right up next to the shore on Tues.
-On Monday they were flying the double red flags, which means absolutely don't get in the water--the undertow was kind-of heavy, but not "double flag" bad, so I was worried it had to do with oil issues. No one cared about trhe double flag warning though. People were getting in and out of the ocean, and yes, I did too (the heat index was like 103)...so maybe I'll be one of the first GLP'ers to develop spill-related superpowers :P
Anyway, if I think of anything else, I'll let y'all know...but you know the drill,
