One of the poorest places on earth borrows 6 Billions more than the tourists will bring in to put on a show, while their people live in corrugated tin shacks.
How wonderful, they must be so proud of their rulers priorities.

Its nice ceremony. I like African music very much. But it bothers me cause the stadium is half empty. There is a live picture going into 500 million households, at least, right now. And its just not nice to watch half empty stands.

Stadium is half empty. Most of the people within a stones throw of this stadium cannot afford to attend.

A joke.

Well the Africans complained how they didnt have it yet. They want it o we gave it to them. If we would say: "first take care for your people and feed them properly". Everybody would scream: "Racism!"

I noticed that too. Also yesterday at the concert, there were no traces of white population in this country. Same today at the opening ceremony.

Very lively opening ceremony!

Football is one of the few things that countries from all the continents have in common; Even N Korea and the Arabs.

Don't get me wrong, but all cultures are NOT being represented here. Despite the past - there seems to be a new apartheid at this world cup

Re: The World Cup Ceremony Uniting Nations
Who cares? It's football, get over it. It's a sport to be played and enjoyed, not watched in grandiose stadiums built at the expense of people living in slums just across the road.

Football as it stands is just a PATHETIC excuse at trying to recreate the gladiator style stadium/vibe they had going in Rome. Openning ceremonies are fucking gay and have elite absurdity written all over them.

Only your cultural bias will tell you different.
