pits are bred for fighting and they are the king of dog fighting. Rotties are not fighters. They were bred as a utility dog for cattle farmers.

A patterdale can beat a pit more often than any other breed.

The common dog sense has purposely been bred out of the pit bull. It doesn't understand dog signals properly, which is why it will more easily get into a fight, and have a harder time quitting, even when the opponent clearly signals submission.

It's like breeding people who kick others lying on the ground with each other, to produce a designer breed of psychologically dysfunctional humans.

The pit bull is an abomination, to put it simple, a product of irresponsible breeding practices. It is a broken dog. Selfish and greedy humans broke it.

I don't care which dog would win your proposed fight. The poor pit bull should be put out of its misery, so it's eternal dog soul can reincarnate in a proper, psychologically healthy dog body.

There are tables comparing bite force, to my recollection Rottweilers have a much stronger bite force than Pitbulls.

There is much more to it though. Would a balanced Rottweiler choose to go into an unmotivated fight with a Pitbull, or any other kind of dog?

I doubt it. From the experience of my own very hardheaded Rottie female, she likes to show dominance and expects other large dogs to accept it, males or females. If they do (and they almost always do), no problem at all, then it is time for playing and having fun.

If any dog would challenge her claims of dominance (typically other large and hardheaded females) there might be quite a fight that may require intervention. For some reason male dogs seem to submit within seconds, regardless of size.

She can also choose not to show dominance at all, for instance against much smaller dogs. To get opportunities to play with other dogs is the most important for her and bullying small dogs is not the ticket. She knows that.

She has played with quite a few pitbulls, there was no problems at all. On the contrary they seem to have similar energies, get along very well. They never got into any serious fights after the first few seconds of establishing rank.

now the real question is will a pit or a rot bite your neck or thigh ergo you bleed out on the street alone. You brought it you owe it times three....

well i think in a fight between a pit and a rot we never would know how it would go there both strong dogs and besides i dont see the point in having them fight it's just stupid it pisses me off cuz there loving dogs no dogs should be fighting dogs ! ..

When owning a Dog.If you want it for some sort of power or protection.Fighting against police dogs would be the only dog on dog situation.
A pits biteforce is weak compared to a rott.A rotts bite force is weak when compared to a mastiff.A mastiff bite force is weak compared to the Turkish dog which has a bite of over 700 pounds.\

I had to stop my african mastiff from attacking a rude and trespassing dog.I put my arm as a barrier.I can tell you this.A African Mastiff can rip a mans arm off.It is a very trainable breed.Very protective.Very scary to look at because of its muscular structure and size.I think it is the smartest most gentle dog I have owned.However it can bite hard and what ever is in its jaws breaks.It is the first war dog sent from the gods.

Good post in a bad thread. First off, the pitbull's bite is much weaker then the rotti, rotti's have the most powerful bite, followed by GSD's. Pitbulls have a much higher pain threshold, they won't stop fighting until they are dead..

Now about the quoted post, my male GSD is always submissive when meeting other dogs. As soon as the initial meeting is over and it's time for play, he shows he has all the power though (he's 100+lbs). He is submissive because he knows that's the ticket to convincing any dog he is friendly and wants attention. He is very socialized and loves other dogs more than most humans, lol. he has no problem being submissive to a 10 week old pup to get it to play with him, owners are always stunned by how good he is with other dogs. The only dogs he has a problem with are the completely unsocialized dogs owned by nutty people (and even then he tries to convinvce them he is friendly.)
