Quoting: Anonymous Coward 979048Wrong,Its the size of the dogs head, which is a measure of its bite force.Take a 190 African mastiff against a pit.The pits bite is 280 psi while the mastiff is well over 500,closer to 600 psi You probably never seen a dog fight in your life. Bite strenght??? All dogs can inflict wounds but not all dogs know how to fight and very few dogs fight more than 5 minutes before getting exhausted. The pit bull is very strong and doesn't tire off easily plus his skin is loose so the other dogs will only get his skin in their mouths the pit on the other hand can get a firm grip plus the pit has a very high pain treshold which will mean he will fight to the death. Most dogs fight out of territory when they see the other dog has been submissed they will stop the fighting but pits don't they have been bred to kill their oponent. A true pit will not back off no matter what happens. That doesn't mean he can't loose or be killed as the pit is limited in size which is his weakness against larger breeds. The mastiff tupe of dogs can win i think without too much hassle against a pit but a rot or dobberman or any normal sized dog would have a hard time fighting a pit. Anyway if the pit is trained for the fight there is no way any other dog can beat it. Just look at a regular bull terrier pinning down an enraged bull. As the world surrenders to tyranny will you do the same thing? Will you be able to stand your ground without faith? Think about it! |

Her amygdala is in hyper-drive if a stranger or strange dog is around the house. She never causes problems on walks or the park. only at home. She has jumped the fence, I have seen her fight a chow twice her size. She should be put down. She is too good of a guard dog. Although it is like keeping a loaded weapon in the house. |

Midnite_rider User ID: 1580435 United States 03/16/2012 09:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Bite force is not what wins a dog fight, there are many different aspects to it, speed and agility among others. Not all pit bulls are good fighting dogs, you may get one good fighting dog out of a litter of ten. The pain tolerance of a pit bull is one of the reasons they make good fighters. I own 3 pits and would never fight one of them, they are members of my family, and not carnie attractions. But I will not own any other breed of dog. I'd like to agree with you, but then we would both be wrong. To get ahead in life, you have to learn to saddle your own horse. |

He will only release for a millisecond to gain better purchase as he works his way to the throat where the battle will soon end. You could hit him with a 2x4 and he won't let go. Most of you fuckers don't know shit about dogs. My lab/pit mix shatters the hardest deer leg bones with little effort. A friend of mine's pit chewed through the wall of his house to get outside because he was house-trained and wouldn't crap in the house... I don't like to see dogs fight but if yours decides to take on a pit, get the shovel ready... |
