The initial behavior that led to these people being placed on anti-psychotics could have been caused by caffeine. [ link to www.caffeineweb.com] Research schizophrenia and niacin. Then find out where you get the highest levels of niacin from. Coffee. I'd be far, far more concerned with nutritional deficiencies and blood sugar issues, before I'd blame caffeine. You approach another good point: Nutrition, which is included in my above point about how a child is raised...Chemical imbalances do happen, but I believe most can be avoided with proper nutrition... that too, a lack of DHA fatty acids and other nutrients can bring about a psychotic episodes. Especially common on early formula fed infants growing up, and hitting another mal nourishment phase. Teens raised on formula as babies should be supplement with fish oil and be watched on their diet. Think a car running without oil, Lack of DHA will cause a screwed up brain.
