I have. It gives powers to cops to harass people they suspect of being illegals. An open ended interpretation giving them the discretion to define it as they please...

It empowers the police to determine the immigration status of anyone who does not present valid ID after being stopped for probable cause.

If you have the ID and/or legal immigration documentation which everyone is already required by law to carry, then you have nothing to worry about, regardless of your skin color.

If I get stopped for running a stop sign or having a broken tail light, I have to present my drivers license, just like everyone else.

" hello officer was I speeding?"

"nope"

"was my tail light broken?"

"nope"

"Well then, why did you stop me?"

I suspect you are here in the country illegally"

"And how did you come to that suspicion?"

"I dont have to tell you that"

"You mean you can just stop me on a suspicion that I may be illegal and you dont have to give me a reason why you suspect that?"

The best thing for citizens IMO is to avoid interaction with cops, dont give them reasons or excuses to pull you over, obey all the laws and they wont have probable cause, and then no possibility of misunderstandings, personality conflicts, conflicts "having a bad day",,, etc...

Now probable cause has just been taken out of my hands and given totally at the discretion of the cop. I cant appease him by obeying the law. I now must het stopped interact, and prove to him I am obeying the law...

Quite a different dynamic. And alot of unintended consequences...

BS just like everyone else in America all they have to say is that you were swerving. Happens to EVERYONE your not special. They will find or make a reason up to pull anyone they want to over. No whinning.


Why bullshit? At least with swerving there might be witnesses, or you can take them to court and force the cop to testify the facts of what you did. With total discretion given to the cops,,, you wont even have that right, it rests on his suspicion nothing more. If you are okay with less rights that's your thing...

You ever try to fight a ticket in court in the US? First off the judge is going to believe the officer over you 9 out of 10 times. They have lots and lots of things they could say that you did which are totally subjective. I.E you failed to signal long eough prior to making a turn, you came within a foot of the centerline while driving or within a foot of the fog line, you failed to come to a complete stop, you were going 2 miles an our over the speed limit or the light was red. Get the idea they can say anything they want as to why they pulled you over. Maybe you even have witnesses but the judge see those officers on a regular basis. It's subjective and it's the officers subjectivity and discretion that allows them to tailor fit the "reason" as to why they pulled you over. It's nothing new it's been going on since cops have been around. And it happens to everyone. You know how many criminals have been caught cause they had expired tags or broken taillights a lot. Why would catching illegal aliens be any diffrent. If they want to pull you over it doesn't matter what color you are, they will.


You can use the system in your favor, ie you can defend yourself, innocent until proven guilty, get a lawyer, get a public lawyer, be your own lawyer, fight fight fight,,, you have that option. With this law it has been taken away,,,, you dont have that option...

That is not true either you can still take your ticket to court. However your chances of winning are a moot point if your an illegal alien because they will just throw the ticket out or dismiss it and your still charged with entering the country illegally. So after you serve your sentence for that your deported. Addtionally if they find out you have false ID you will face addtional charges which may effect any future attempts to enter the country legally.


But you have less rights to fight. But if they find nothing and they haul your ass to jail and you will incur a bunch of expenses. costs, inconveniences,,, and there is no consequences for them... But if they do find some secondary offense, they found a couple of marijuana seeds, a half empty beer can, a loaded gun, or all sorts of things snooping cops can find given the chance... you may win in in court, but the fucking charge stemming from something they find simply on their suspicion that you are illegal, wouldnt have happened under the present probable cause scenario. There is no more probable cause, you cant simply look innocent, you have to actually be innocent, your car has to be kept spotless, you have to worry about every single possibility, since the cops can just fish and snoop and face no consequences...

I dont know, rights that keep everybody in check and operating by known rules, I can understand... But this just gives the cops too much power. You know what I mean?
