Expand those to thousands of secondary charges over 10s of thousand stops a year for suspicion of being illegal,,, and you'll have serious deterioration of present freedoms from what we presently enjoy....

Although I, myself, have ranted in opposition to many an American policy, my American identity rests in the ideals and principles of the Constitution -- because it is that document that sets the United States apart from all other countries. And it is those ideals and principles that people have fought and died for.

The problem, though, with a mass immigration from the Third World country is that these people are more accustomed to oppression, whether it be social or governmental, than Americans. So their very presence will change America's identity, because they have been taught to *obey*.

There is book that tells what's really going on, written by a member of the French Academy in the 1970s, so the translation is poor. It's called: *Camp of the Saints.* I've been watching the scenario in that book come into reality for thirty years.


Dont get me wrong. Immigration policy is the perogative of every nation, based on the priorities of the people who live there. Not advocating opening up the gates willy nilly. But third world is a funny term. Dont forget that Europe was "third world" the last great wave when their labor was needed and when they came in droves to the US and Canada and Latin America. I look at it the same way now, they are needed they are being demanded, And yes, there are the same tensions between the old and the new as was the case if you read about it. But as then they will be absorbed and assimilated over time, the parents will die and the kids will be the surroundings, and their kids will know nothing of their gandparents life. Now there is a demographic crisis in the present system. If you want the present system, new blood is needed that is why people are being asked to come, and policy is the way it is. When people demand a different system of production, distrubution and consumption, or if they want the same system but unrealistically start having 8 babies per family to match it, then and only then will demand from the outside subside. However, I really think the system is unsustainable. I mean your "adavanced" system in the US and those roaring along with you, so by its very nature it will drastically alter and your lifestyles in the "west" along with it. Too many problems, too many tensions. That is the difference between then and now, I suppose...

Oh well,,, I am happy to pursue a simpler life here in Mexico. I have already changed thank you very much...

What I don't get is why you are concerned with OUR policies...you're happy in Mexico; I'm happy here...why the fuck do you care what the laws are here? How does it affect you?
