They have already spent the money from their sold yet unpumped oil. There are those who would say we should just close the well with a well placed tactical charge. That option will not allow BP to recover their property to be able to finance the clean up effort. Their ability to clean the spill is paired with their ability to gather, process, and deliver their already sold oil. I think they are doing the banana in the tail pipe trick. |

When the Kursk was blown up (now there's a conspiracy theory!), the UK offered experts and submersibles IIRC. WHERE THE HELL IS THE INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT NOW? That alone raises suspicion! |

I saw pics of the top hat being built and there were guys sitting around, smiling and chit chattin. BP and all service companies supplying BP with additional equipment should be moving at breakneck speed. You expect union workers to work hard?? HA! That's classic. LOL like non union workers work any harder or faster. They might even be slower since you'd have to go back and forth fixing all the mistakes and fuck ups. But hey they'd make less doing it. |

Why are they not taking to the streets en masse. Eerily quite from a nation of people who normally like to have their voices heard. IT DOESN'T MATTER there is no what nothing can be done I think other countries should step in by force and stop this nonsense, because they are under threat too, and since they actually CARE about their people, they might actually bother to fix it. The ocean floor has been breached and leaking uncontrollably. And will do so for the next 30 years! BP isn't doing anything cuz nothing they can do would make a difference! |

This was a boat that pulled up to tell reporters to stay away or be arrested. When questioned the Coast Guard guy simply said those were the orders FROM BP. THAT is how things have been run down there. |

I as a sane mariner practice triple redundancy. If the pipe and vice grips I responded with did not work I had a back up for that scenario as well. I was working alone and survived a potentially fatal event with triple redundancy. All my systems operated on triple redundancy. Triple redundancy is THE law of survival at sea. B.P. hellbenton seem to have failed to realize triple redundancy even now as they dig TWO relief wells. This is not a presidential election.. This is potentially the greatest man made disaster ever.2 will not do it, History tells that smaller wells have taken more than this. Triple redundancy calls for 16 if four have done it in the past. 5 at 100 million apiece is a good start. |
