In the wee-morning hours after the Deepwater Horizon exploded, a Coast Guard rescue helicopter being dispatched to pluck oil rig survivors floating in the fire-engulfed waters could not launch because its hoist was broken.

The crew of the 25-year-old chopper was forced to switch to another aircraft, costing it 38 minutes at a time when the Coast Guard was trying to evacuate the wounded and search for missing workers who leapt into the Gulf Mexico to escape the fiery oil platform on the night of April 20.

Mechanical problems, like those detailed in the Coast Guard’s official incident logs for the BP accident, have been experienced repeatedly during the last two major crises that summoned the service’s famed search and rescue teams, an investigation by the Center for Public Integrity shows.....

They have 48 hours to get their shit together. After that they will have another 72 hours to really take the Coast Guard Seriously. If they don't obey, then it will be another 48 hours and the Coast Guard will show Bp they are really mad!

Listen. You want this cleaned up? Here's what Odumbass and the administration SHOULD have done.

1. Tell BP they have 1 week to clean up the mess. ( they have the resources). Hell, the Saudi's have a ship that sucks up spills like this and separates it then reuses the oil. HIRE THEM!

2. If and when they don't make progress you tell BP that their assets will be seized, they will be kicked out of the US and the assets will be used to clean up the spill to make reparations to families, communities and local governments for the cost of clean up and economic recovery. Use their monies to clean this disaster up!

3. Outsource the clean up and pay it with seized assets if we are not able to do it ourselves. This is no time to whine and complain about who does the job, just fucking do it before we lose the Gulf Of Mexico and the coastal environment.

1 week and seize their assets. This will get their attention.

Declare war on BP and treat it as such!

Norway owns 3 of the ships with ROVs (Deep C, Skandi and Viking Poseidon)
Also, 3 norwegian rigs is at the site. I think 2 of them is already drilling the relief wells.
So, ar least 6 of the ships at the site is from norwegian companies.

Norway is a small country with like 4.5 mill people living here, and we got like 90% of the gear ready to even make a difference?

We saw that skins versus riot gear really sucked for the dissidents in the past, The media is two faced and slants the news towards corporate interests.
